Electronic Arts and DICE have released a new trailer for Battlefield 4, setting the stage for the single-player campaign.

The game will follow Sergeant Daniel Recker, who players will control. Recker is part of Tombstone squad who are sent into China in order to stop Admiral Chang, who is planning a coup in the country. If Chang goes ahead with his plans, the Russians would also back him up.

Tombstone squad is sent in to China to retrieve and extract a group of VIPs – among them is a CIA field operative known as Laszlo W. Kovic, a mysterious individual that the Chinese military wants badly.

Recker will be joined by Clayton “PAC” Pakowski (Marine Combat Lifesaver) and Staff Seargeant Kimble “Irish” Graves. We got a glimpse at these characters in the gameplay reveal trailer, showing the heroes in a bit of a sketchy situation.

“The world is on the brink of chaos, China is the tinderbox and you and your squad are the inadvertent spark that could ignite a global conflict,” says DICE. “This is Battlefield 4. As Sergeant Daniel Recker, you play as a member of an elite group of unlikely heroes known as Tombstone squad, navigating the turmoil around you as you fight to save the final hope for peace.”
