May is hitting the midway point this week, and with it comes one of the prettiest, yet grittiest, games around – Metro: Last Light.
To bolster this week’s releases, we are also treated to CCP Games’ long-awaited PS3-exclusive, Dust 514.
Metro: Last Light
Expect more crazy weapons, creatures and locations when Metro: Last Light arrives this week.
The franchise will return on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, and should push the current-gen systems given that the original game became well-known for its great visuals.
Metro: Last Light is set in 2034 and after the events of the original game, where humanity have been pushed into the Metro underground of Moscow, fighting for survival against grotesque creatures and enemies.
As humanity makes its last stand, they also search for a doomsday device that could be the key to their victory.
Dust 514
Dust 514 is a spin-off of the EVE franchise, and takes the form of a free-to-play first person shooter with MMO elements thrown into the mix.
The game features a number of unique maps from a variety of planets in the EVE Online universe. Players can customise their soldier, weapons and vehicles to get the upper hand in a number of different modes.
The exciting link between Dust 514 and EVE Online sees the actions in one game affecting the political and economic status of the other.
Another connection between the two games allows Dust 514 players to call in an “orbital bombardment”, which allows an EVE Online player, controlling a starship, to fire at the planet to destroy enemy troops.
