SA retailers deliver gaming specials

South African retailers have presented gaming specials and deals in an attempt to keep prices reasonable for SA consumers.

Regarding the recent Rand fluctuations, MassMart (Game, DionWired, Makro) explained that price increases will be the last resort over any other solution for the retailers.

“Typically in this environment both retailers and suppliers alike are hesitant to move pricing upwards and will only do so when all other options have been exhausted,” said a Mass Discounters spokesperson. “Suppliers will be expected to absorb some of the effect and retailers would do the same and so ultimately consumers will typically not see the real or full impact of the currency weakness in the final retail pricing.”

BT Games specials

BT Games is running a number of specials for its Winter Sale.

The Grid 2 and steering wheel bundle for Xbox 360 is R699.90, while the Sony wireless 7.1 stereo headset is priced at R799.90.

Game specials include Injustice, Gears of War: Judgment and God of War: Ascension, which are priced at R399.90 each for their respective consoles.

PC Games are discounted, with Dead Island Riptide, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider and Assassin’s Creed III priced at R299.90 each.

BT Games is also holding a Power Trade special for the weekend where you get increased value for game trade-ins.

The special is valid until 14 July 2013.
