Top selling games in SA

Market research company Gfk has released its October 2013 sales charts for the SA physical retail gaming market, revealing the top 5 selling games during the month.

Interestingly, Grand Theft Auto 4 has seen a resurgence in popularity, no doubt sparked by the massive success of console exclusive GTA 5, which continues its dominance on the console charts.

Call of Duty: Ghosts pre-orders saw the title crack into the top-5 on the non-Sims PC chart. It will be interesting to see how the game performs once the November stats are finalised, as the game launched in that month.

Below is a chart detailing the top 5 selling games at SA retail for October 2013.

Gfk does track online retailers, as well as both the physical and online sales of the retailers who have physical and online outlets, said Sengupta.

The stats presented are gathered on a monthly basis from the retailers with whom the Gfk is in partnership.
