Tech deals this weekend

Tech deals - 23.05.15

Forget load shedding, this week it’s all about being angry at Sanral and the government over e-tolls.

Our deputy president recently announced massive price cuts for motorists using the e-toll routes in Gauteng, and big discount for those who have outstanding bills.

Not a cool move if you have diligently paid your e-toll bills up until now – you are effectively being punished for being a good boy or girl.

I saw this coming, and that is why I have not paid a single e-toll yet. I also foresee additional reductions in the near future, which means I won’t be paying this time around either.

Potentially linking my licence renewal to my outstanding e-toll bills does not scare me either – by the time they integrate the necessary systems (following 18 IT tenders), I will have retired in the south of France.

Rather take your e-toll money and spend it on this week’s best tech deals.
