This week, gamers are in for a pretty dynamic bunch of games, as the controversial Hatred hits PC, while Blizzard’s new MOBA venture also releases.
Hatred – 1 June (PC)
Hatred, as it’s name suggests, caused an uproar when its first trailer hit the internet. The ultra-violent shooter throws you into the shoes of the villain, who is cold blooded with a hatred for humanity.
Taking place in the boonies of New York, you are free to take out anyone you see fit in seven free-roaming levels.
You’ll take on the law, gather equipment from your victims, and destroy everything in your way. All the while you’ll learn more about this hateful individual.
Whether or not the controversy around the game is justified is up for debate, but either way, it hasn’t stopped the game from hitting Steam this week.
Heroes of the Storm – 2 June (PC)
Blizzard’s free-to-play entry into the MOBA genre begins in full force this week. After several stages of alpha and betas, Heroes of the Storm is finally heading to release.
The game brings together heroes from Blizzard’s popular series: Diablo, StarCraft, and WarCraft into 5-on-5 team battles.
While the game is free with a changing roster of 5-7 heroes, players can purchase any of the 36 heroes permanently via in-game currency or microtransactions.
A starter pack is also coming out, which includes a golden tiger mount and five heroes: Sonya, Zeratul, Zagara, Li Li, and Jaina.
