The first benchmarks for Intel’s new Kaby Lake Core i7-7700 processor have been revealed, and the results are impressive.

The GeekBench 4 benchmark reportedly measures the single-threaded performance of the Core i7-700K as 42% faster than the Skylake i7-6700K, along with a multi-threaded performance increase of 20%.

The Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake processor has a TDP of 95W and is built for the same LGA 1151 socket used by the current generation of Skylake processors.

Intel’s 14nm+ architecture is the main contributing factor to the boost in performance, with the i7-7700K boasting a boost clock speed of up to 4.5GHz and a base clock speed of 4.2GHz.

Below are the GeekBench 4 scores for the Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake processor:

  • Single-Threaded Performance: 6,131
  • Multi-Threaded Performance: 20,243

There is an i5-6600K and an i7-6700k, never heard of the i7-6600k O.o

Interesting benchmarks and I am keen to see a retail unit considering Kaby Laky is just a refinement of Skylake based on Intel’s new 3 Point Strategy after they tossed out Tick-Tock. I estimate real world performance to be low single digit % gains.
