AMD is collaborating with Qualcomm to integrate Snapdragon LTE modems into Ryzen processors for notebooks.

This will allow gigabit LTE connectivity with high-performance Ryzen CPUs, said AMD.

Qualcomm and AMD said they hope to make it easy for PC companies to create premium computing platforms that are always connected via wireless networks.

The announcement follows Qualcomm unveiling Windows 10 laptops powered by the Snapdragon 835 mobile PC platform.

The new computers will offer “beyond all-day” battery life, with a constant connection to the Internet, said Qualcomm.
