Roccat announced the worldwide launch of its Tyon gaming mouse this week, promising gamers it is a must-have “weapon” in their arsenal.
The mouse features an X-Celerator, a single-axis analog thumb paddle which can be used to tilt left and right, pitch up and down, and increase or decrease throttle; Easy-Shift technology which lets you assign a secondary function to each button on the mouse (which can be activated on the fly when the Easy-Shift button is held down); and a dorsal fin switch – a two-way button positioned mid-knuckle.
Like many modern gaming mice, the Tyon also features colour customisation options – to the tune of 16.8 million colours.
At the time of writing there was no local pricing available for the Tyon, but it is retailing in the States for $99.99 in either black or white.
The mouse’s technical specifications are listed in the table below.

The mouse is geared towards serious gamers, and those with a good memory and dexterous fingers, with four buttons positioned at the top front of the Tyon for easy access to whatever function you assign them. Combined with the X-Celerator, dorsal fin switch, and Easy-Shift functionality, this mouse is not for those who battle to double click fast enough to open a folder in Windows.
Before we get the to the marketing video, here are a few pictures of the little guy from a different angle.
And now, watch the mouse in action.

I’d stay away from Roccat where possible. Quality of their kit is not as good as the competition. Rather go for the Logitech mice, plus you get to avoid their naming convention.
