The guy who built the Xbook – an Xbox One console/laptop hybrid – has focused his attention on the PlayStation 4, putting together what he calls the PlayBook 4.
Ed Zarick built what is essentially a PlayStation 4 laptop using self-taught skills, and I must say it does not look too shabby.
The PlayBook features the PS4’s internals inside a 3D-printed plastic case and is attached to a 22-inch 1080p LED display.
Available in black and white with customisation options, as shown in the video below, a PlayBook takes about two to three weeks to build and starts at $1,095… if you provide your own PS4, that is.
If you don’t feel like providing your own console, Zarick will charge you $1,395 for one of his creations. They are only available in the United States at the moment, so you will need a US forwarding address to get your hands on one.
Zarick says that construction of the PlayBook 4 does void the console’s warranty, but it does not affect gamers’ ability to play online through PSN.
Watch the inventor of the Playbook talk about his pride and joy in the video, below.
