AMD unveils Radeon R9 380X: for those who can’t quite afford a GTX 970

AMD Unveils R9-380X

AMD has unveiled its R9 380X, which Anandtech reports will slot in between Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 970 and GTX 960 cards.

The card will retail for $229 (R3, 200) in the States, and features the company’s Tonga GPU.

Compared to the R9 380’s 28 CUs, Anandtech said that all 32 of the R9 380X’s CUs are enabled – which means increased stream processors and texture resources.

Memory bus width comes in at 256-bit, while VRAM hits the 4GB mark.
