Corsair’s incredible mag-lev fans could eliminate your PC’s noise

14 June 2016

Corsair have announced a new ML fan series,  the ML Pro 120 and ML Pro 140.

The fans are unique in that they will feature magnetic levitation bearings.

The magnetic field generated by the rotor and bearings means the fan’s shaft never comes into contact with the bearings.

This prevents any friction from taking place and should in principle eliminate any hub noise coming from your PC.

Unfortunately this proprietary technology is not cheap, meaning the fans will be quite pricey, costing $30 a unit (R448).

A separate lineup of fans featuring RGB LEDs (ML Pro 120/140 LED) will also be released, allowing for a variety of case customisation options.
