A leaked benchmark video shows the AMD Radeon RX 480 scoring higher than a Nvidia Geforce GTX 980.

A user named Misty Rain has posted a recording of the benchmark on YouTube.

The benchmark in question is Fire Strike Ultra – a powerful benchmarking tool which measures a GPU’s processing power when rendering 4K graphics.

The AMD Radeon RX 480 attained a Fire Strike Ultra score of 3,515.

This score is remarkably high for a mid-range, value-oriented graphics card – scoring significantly higher than the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980’s Fire Strike Ultra score of 2,923.

This supports the predicted performance of the upcoming Radeon card, meaning that AMD will be offering a VR-Ready GPU with a MSRP of $200.

The benchmark score reflects the performance of the 8GB version of the Radeon RX 480.

South African pricing and availability has not yet been confirmed for the AMD Radeon RX 480.
