Honestly, I am not a big fan of these sport events taking place around the world. I see them on, and don’t bother paying attention to them.
However, what makes me excited is world records in video games. With all this talk about world records all over the place, I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the biggest world records in gaming.
Be it holding a 6-star wanted level for the longest time, or even reaching the highest score ever in Super Mario. Here are some of the most outrageous World Records in video games.
Most F-Bombs in a video game
No, this is not going to GTA, rather Mafia II. In Mafia II, the F-word is used over 397 times in a single playthrough.
This making it the game with the most swearing in history. According to the game’s script, a f-word is used every 2 minutes.
Longest survival in a 6-star wanted level
We all know how hard GTA gets the more those darn stars fill up. Well, it seem that one player out there managed to stay alive through the SWAT, tanks, and all other crazy things that were out to kill him.
A Danish gamer managed to stay alive for 16 minutes and 16 seconds, using no cheats or hacks at all.
Most user-created content played in a 24 hour period
If you love user-created content, then you will feel right at home with this one.
A player somewhere in the world managed to play whopping 272 levels of user created content in a 24-hour period. The game he chose to do this on was the original LittleBigPlanet.
Highest-grossing video game in a 24 hour period
GTA V holds many records for its massive sales and production cost. One of these, was the record for the highest grossing video game in a 24-hour period.
The game managed to generate $660.2 million in 24 hours. That is quite the load of money.
The most expensive piece of virtual property
Normal people believe in buying houses and actual property, but some people would rather spend their money on digital property, because it can totally keep you warm at night.
One gamer spent over $300,000 on digital currency in the game Entropia Universe. He built a space station and called it “Crystal Palace”. What we could do with that money!
Best-selling video game of all time
As unfair as I think this is, it is still a record, so it should be noticed. Although Wii Sports was a bundled game in every Nintendo Wii sold back in the day, it stands as the most sold video game of all time.
The game managed to sell 45.7 million copies. All of these sales came from console sales, but what can we do?
Game with the most magazine Covers
Forget all those models, Ezio Auditore da Firenze is the real star here. Assassin’s Creed II still holds the record for the most magazines in the world to feature the game on their covers.
127 magazines, in 32 countries had Assassin’s Creed II on the cover between April 2009 an April 2010, making Ezio a fan favorite.
Worst feature-film based off a video game
Believe it or not, there have have been worse films out there than DOOM. Yes, the original Mario Bros film was a complete disaster.
Opening at the box office, and only managing to rake in a measly $20 million dollars back in the day. Sure this might seem like a load of money back then, but the cost of the movie exceeded $50 million. This made the film a complete failure.
Best Toy video game series
Skylanders is an awesome series, but it also costs a bit to keep up with it. You always need to buy new toys and equipment for it. However, this has paid off for Activision, as they are rolling in it.
As of February 2016, over 240 million toys were sold for the series, making Skylanders worth over $3 billion. Just imagine what they are worth today!
Longest pig ride ever
In Minecraft you can ride all sorts of things, and one of these things are pigs. Well, a player loved riding his pig so much that he rode it for 667km.
Sure, it took him 48 hours to ride it, but he got a world record for it, so I suppose that is all that matters.
