Leaked Windows 10 “Game mode” will reportedly make your PC games run better

4 January 2017

Windows 10 is set to receive a new “Game Mode” that will enhance the PC gaming experience by minimizing resources used by running apps to almost nothing and allocating freed up resources to the game, making it run faster, better and smoother overall, reports Windows Central.

The new mode was reportedly first discovered by Twitter user WalkingCat who noticed the new code in the recently leaked build 14997.

The mode will reportedly work similarly to how Xbox One handles running a game and will allocate resources to make sure the game is running the best it possibly can.

It is currently not known whether the mode will work with all Win32 games (Steam and Origin) or just those titles bought on the Windows 10 store.

It has been confirmed that the same technology will be brought to the Xbox One and Project Scorpio however, which will reportedly allow the upcoming Scorpio at true 4K resolutions.
