Psyonix have confirmed several new changes to Rocket League, including special rare items and the option to trade-in unwanted cosmetics.
The game’s next upadate will introduce “rare” and “very rare” items including hats, decals, and new boost trails.
These new items will play a massive part in the game’s other big change – the option to trade in unwanted duplicate items of the same rarity for one item of the next-highest quality (similar to CS: GO’s trade up contracts).
However, the biggest news from the blog post is this disclaimer at the bottom:
In the interest of full disclosure, we plan to implement Player-to-Player Trading in a later update. Some items, like those with “Painted” or “Certified” attributes, may become much more valuable if you can trade them to other players.
The “Trade-In System” is designed to let you get rid of unwanted or duplicate items, but you should consider carefully what you trade now versus what you might want to keep for future player-trading opportunities.
The new update is expected to release some time in June.
