New PS4s inbound, including a 1TB model

Have you always wanted a matte finished PS4? Well, now your dreams have come true.

Say goodbye to finger prints and hello to new matte PS4 models, including a 1TB PS4.

Take a look at the recently announced, CUH-1200, Sony’s latest iteration of the PS4.

White PS4 matte finish

The CUH-1200 in white is heavenly PS4 bliss.

Some of the changes included in this new model are:

  • 8% less power consumption when compared to previous models.
  • 10% lighter total weight than previous PS4 models.
  • HDD cover in the same matte finish as the rest of the PS4’s body.
Black PS4 matte finish

The CUH-1200 in black looks like Batman’s personal gaming console.

The CUH-1200 will retain the same 500GB hard drive that comes standard.

This new model will be shipped near the end of June in Japan. Expect the model in the rest of the world later.

However, for those of you wanting a higher capacity PS4, a 1TB model has been revealed.

Aptly named the 1TB PS4 Ultimate Player Edition, it will launch in select Europe and PAL territories from 15th July onwards.

We expect the 1TB upgrade to translate over to the new CUH-1200 models, but not before Sony has the regular 500GB version on store shelves.

1TB PS4

Finally, a 1TB PS4. 500GB was never enough.

We will update you once we have a confirmed South African release date or price point for the 1TB PS4.

All-in-all, it is great to see new revisions of the PS4 and the introduction of a 1TB version of the console which is direly needed.
