After making a major mark with the Xbox 360 in South Africa, Microsoft’s latest console has never seemed to hit the same heights.
That said, the Xbox One is a great console and there has never been a better time to own one.
It’s also a whole lot cheaper this weekend as Prima Interactive just yesterday announced massive price cuts for the Xbox One in celebration of two years in South Africa.
You can actually get the console even cheaper if you shop around, with BT Games most notably offering a refurbished console for R3,999.
Add to this Forza Horizon 3’s release later this week and you have the best driving game of this generation to play on the console.
Of course there are also a number of other exclusives worth picking up that you can’t play anywhere else, including Sunset Overdrive, Rare Replay and the Halo franchise.
It looks like Microsoft plans to genuinely support the console going forward too.
The Play Anywhere initiative brings all Windows 10 devices into the fray allowing single purchases to carry over across devices and gamers to play multiplayer cross-platform.
The company has also announced Project Scorpio a device fully backwards compatible with the current console extending its life well into the future.
