If you missed out on those repulsive gold-plated Lancers and Hammerbursts during the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta in April, your career as a pimp-COG might not be over just yet.
Apparently the US Air Force has sponsored a “Golden Wings Week” over the Gears of War 3 launch, and players going into the online trenches between 20-26 September will unlock the skins.
I checked the press release’s small print stuff, and you won’t also unlock a US Air Force enlistment, so it seems pretty safe.
“This is by far the biggest, most polished, and most ambitious game we’ve ever made,” said Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski. “I’ve been lucky enough to work on some big games throughout my career, but Gears of War 3 represents a crowning achievement for our team, and we can’t wait to share it with fans next Tuesday.”
