All I will add here again is this :

I am removing a whole bunch of members from the group that are either inactive, unknown, haven't contributed to the forum in a long time, or are not playing by the rules in some other way. If you feel you are removed unfairly, please PM me with you Steam profile link and we'll reconsider.
http://mygaming.co.za/forum/showthr...ty-Giveaways?p=1047919&viewfull=1#post1047919

And this:
How to create a giveaway:

  1. Register on Steamgifts.
  2. Once you're logged in, click on Giveaway -> Create a Giveaway
  3. Choose the game you want to give away from the dropdown menu. Note that some of them have a * next to them. These are games that have been in bundles before, and they don't add to your "contributor value" over a certain amount
  4. Select the time period you want to run it for. It's usually best to start your giveaways "now" and give a reasonable end date and time. (times are local)
  5. In the Who Can Enter section, choose "Steam Group" and then select "MyGaming community" from the dropdown list.
  6. You can ignore the other field for the most part, then click "Create Your Giveaway" and confirm it.
  7. If you can't find your signature, click here.
  8. Once the giveaway ends, Steamgifts will immediately pick a random winner, it will give you the email address and Steam details of the person you should send the key / gift to.
  9. After you sent the key, mark the box that says "Gifts Sent" and you're done.

Please let me know if anything here isn't clear or if you need more info.

Member Aliases

If you're wondering who entered your giveaway, here is a list of MyGaming Members and their Steam names.

Rules and guidelines

These giveaways are being done by MyGaming community members, for fellow members that contribute in a positive way to the MyGaming forum, and as such we will show NO leniency to spammers or people who do not follow the rules as decided by the community.

These giveaways are for long standing, active members of the MyGaming.co.za forums only.

  • [*]You need to be a member on the forums for a minimum of two months to be eligible to enter.
[*]If you want to join the MyGaming Community Steam group, post a link to your Steam profile in this thread. It will look something like this: http://steamcommunity.com/id/metalsoup/
[*]You must be actively posting on the forums during the last two months (at least 20 decent posts per month, no spam, no nonsense)
[*]If you are not active on the MyGaming forums, outside this thread and during activity based competitions, for long periods of time you will be removed from the Steam group.
  • If you aren't well known to the person who's giveaway you are entering, please leave a comment with your forum username if it's different from your Steam name on their Giveaway comment section.
  • If you want to create giveaways, please make them exclusive to members of the MyGaming community group
  • If you see anybody in the group that you don't think deserves to be there, please send me a PM with your reason.

Good luck and have fun, and a special thanks to all contributors!

I remember that post Wyvern. I expected a clean-up of people that we don't know about who have in their lifetime posted 51 posts where 50 posts were the minimum entry requirement for our "community". People that we've never heard about.

But I can't agree with this.

But I can't agree with this.

If you didn't agree with the rules, why didn't you speak up when they were made? When I wrote them I specifically asked for feedback. Everyone said they were fine. Now that we try to apply the rules, one person is a making a fuss about it (not even the person affected by it), and apparently tearing the community apart and undoing everything we tried to achieve.

Can we maybe add a "Maybe" to the poll? I'm pretty much sitting on the fence on this one. I believe Dampi should be part of the group provided he posts more on other parts of the forum as originally intended.

Because I believed that there would be some room for interpretation and common good. I didn't think that we would jump at the first opportunity to stab one of our own in the back.

I don't really see how a "Maybe" will help resolve this situation. It seems like the tribe has spoken though. So much for being a community.

Thanks for the down rep The_Imp_ZA. My mistake for thinking that we were a community.

It's the Eugene and buddies show Wyzak, you're going to get nowhere. Maybe a chime from an admin but no real change on the matter.

P.S - I thought down repping was removed from the site? Such a childish tool for asstwats.

Like I said Wyzak, Dampi will be invited back as soon as he starts posting more outside of that thread. We have no issue with inviting him back, but the idea with this was also to promote community. The thing is yes he contributed to that thread and giveaways, but outside of that he wasnt that active. We are just trying to keep the forums active, it was also a way to reward the active members and share our spare keys. Its a pity that this is what it turned into.

Woah, I was genuinely surprised by your reply Mephisto_Helix. We haven't exactly seen eye to eye in the past. I came here expecting another member of the clique to jump in and bark. But good for you.

Sadly this community will never be able to grow while it has a ruling elite who call all the shots, and alienate whoever dares to say something else.

I may have a thing against new poephols but someone with 1k + posts and a join date of 2011 shouldn't be made to feel unwelcome by a dick few, especially seeing as this site needs all the members it can hold onto because it's dead as. The situation needs some ballsy admin to step up but don't hold your breath.

Love it! I'd rep you again, but I can't.

No offence Wyzak, but you have blown this out of proportion.

How about this part - If you feel you are removed unfairly, please PM me with you Steam profile link and we'll reconsider.

Did anyone even bother pm'ing anyone about this? This could have been sorted out peacefully and without all this fracking drama. Once again drama is the main reason I left the group. I didnt give two hoots about who won what, or when or what they did with the winnings - if they never even played it. What got me upset is the attack on the supposed elite? Am I considered elite? Just because I post a lot and everywhere and have been a member a while? You all know what feck it.

What I don't get is that dampi accepted it and he seems fine about it, so in all his wisdom Wyzak cries foul and now everyone is snapping at everyone else and now the GA thing was stopped...

Eh but whatever, there is a reason I never took part in the steam GA, I knew I was simply to busy to add any sort of value, seeing as most of my time is spent in the hardware section and that mainly translates into pm's.

Dampi won a ton of games, he gave away some games and he would have been invited back if his activity level picked up and the dude was completely fine with it.

I must echo Joker's statement here.

Dampi is fine with it and understands why. Creating a thread regarding this seems to be taking a little too far.

It's never nice when a community has issues and problems! But I believe it should always be handled privately, and not putting the whole situation in the spotlight for everyone to see! So I agree with Wyvern, send a pm or email if you are unhappy about a situation and would like to clear something up

Why did it even have to come to that Wyvern?

A simply follow-up to the purge email could have followed saying I'm going to boot out these people, are there any objections? Or even after the fact "I booted out these people". But no it remained hidden until Dampi came and posted about his kick this morning. Why was it hidden? Why was there no official warning?

The elite are a group of people who always have each other's back, no matter what they say. They always rush to the defence of one of their own, and often end up verbally abusing those who dared to take on one of their own. They are alienating people from this forum, and unless something is done to reign them in I don't see how this community will ever be able to grow into something larger.

Hello all,

This thread and the posts it contains will be moderated shortly.

If at all possible, let's keep it civil until then.

Thanks.
