Grand Theft Auto V - PC

AH, I remember the first time I tried to play GTA 5 as well. I had to wait like 35 seconds to it to load after I put the disc in the Xbox...35 seconds before I could play it..."whistling:

But also relevant, seeing as I can't just be baiting the one side only....

Loadshedding by the time I get home sigh :( Eugene, how long did the decryption take?

I'd say about 30 minutes, I started the game up, saw it was "downloading" so I closed it again and went to take a shower. The annoying thing is, it doesn't actually tell you what it's doing, it just looks like it's downloading or something, I just assumed it was decrypting, after that the game ran fine.

So it's a 1GB patch download plus the 30 min (or so) minutes decryption waiting period?

I'm trying really hard to resist buying this (a third time) on my Edgars account at CNA. Will see how it goes as the day goes along.

Something I saw on another website to perhaps keep in mind (not sure if it is indeed like this or not) is that the game needs double the amount of the game's installation size available in free space in order to decrypt (the game is about 60GB, so you need 120GB free space on your drive). In some cases the game refused to decrypt and the entire game had to be re-downloaded.

So better safe than sorry I suppose.

Thankfully my HDD is never more than half full of data, so I should be safe. Why does it need all that space for decryption?

I had to move ESO off my SSD to avoid that issue lol. :D

No idea, haven't done more research to find out. Just glad I saw it because the hard drive with all my Steam games on it is pretty full at the moment. Not that I bought GTA5 yet, but for future reference :)

So... Once the decryption is done it goes back to its original size I hope...

Hey what's the cheapest you guys have gotten this for and where?

I'm really itching to get it but R650 sounds like I am throwing away money.

Haven't bought it yet, but I'm considering it now. It is $60 on Steam, which at the moment works out to about R730. It costs R699 at BT Games which is the lowest price I have seen. I would like to own it on Steam, but downloading 60GB will take quite a while, even on my 10M line.
Eugene, how big was the actual download from Steam? Because they usually compress their downloads quite a bit so the download should have been less than 60GB?

If you don't mind waiting for the download http://www.greenmangaming.com/vip/.
