The official Witcher 3 thread

Just some random tip, i've found certain sign upgrades can make alot of fights alot easier. That "magic trap" sign (Yrden) has a alternative mode upgrade that drops a 10m AOE "zapper" which you can unlock pretty early in the game (lvl 8-10 ish, depending on where you put your points). Also alternate mode implies you can drop 2 different traps at the same time, i.e. i drop the zapper AND the standard slow ....wolf packs usually do't know what hit them.

Dropping that at the start of a boss fight and you got some nice passive damage + slow going while you can focus entirely on sword fighting/parrying properly. I guess you can exploit a little with this too, doing the whole "kiting-with-crossbow" thing pulling mobs through the traps in circles ;)

It wouldn't hurt to try without it. That said I bumped it up to 4.6Ghz and it ran fine...lol
The game really is weird when pushing it hard.
 
'Loading most recent save' only when you're dead doesn't bring up that dialogue screen, loading from the menu prior to your death does.
Still having my ass handed to me. I'ma be stuck here for a while.

Dunno how you're finding the game so difficult? :p Then again I just came from finishing TW2 on Dark difficulty, so compared to that TW3 is a cakewalk, even on its hardest mode.

Anyone else in love with Gwent? I can't stop playing. I haven't lost yet though, which is somewhat strage. The AI always falls for my 'play all your cards in the first around' trick.

New DLC is out. You can find the missing miners quest in Skellige, and activate the alt. outfit for Yennefer in the main menu. Personally, her normal one suits her better. I'm looking forward the to alt. Ciri and Triss ones which are coming next week. They need it. Not sure why either of them are showing so much cleavage, doesn't fit their characters at all. Hopefully I haven't finished the game by then.

Loving Gwent. Actually read an article somewhere that they thibkvits better than Hearthstone, and I tend to agree. Would be great to play against like mended people.

I suck at most games, this just happens to be one of those kinds of games where I suck really badly....

Have you turned it down to the lowest difficulty, I think it was called story and sword or something like that? Difference strokes for different okes I guess, but I think that should solve your problem. What quest are you stuck on?

Goshdarn it! That fight was easy! Strafe, dodge, burn and attack. Sorted. No parrying necessary; that was my problem, trying to parry rather than simply toying with the beast (aka rolling). :p
 
Tell me, do you guys enable subtitles?
I've had to since certain words, phrases and names need to be read for me. Can't fully grasp what someone is talking about if you cannot even pronounce or spell it, then it's just fictional gibberish.

I've had subtitles off from the beginning, I find it detracts from the immersion.




..... aaaaaand I thought I was almost done with the Baron quest, turns out I have to go talk to him some more. Dang some of these quests are lengthly. Not that I'm complaining, I just loose track of time, and well.... work tomorrow :(

so i decided to go with triss. Couldnt help myself. I stared at those options till just before the timer ran out. But i married a red head and i suppose that is where my loyalties lie. Even in the virtual space.
 
Baron quest even though early on is one of the best story arcs I have ever played just brilliant. Im not sure about the ending I chose it still feels unfinished to me so many questions :) ..... Thats what makes this game so good.

I can't stand subtitles. I find myself reading them instead of watching what is going on or actually listening to the interactions. Off, always.

It was a good questline indeed. Mine actually felt like it ended very satisfactory, considering the circumstances. I am hoping to encounter them somewhere down the line again , at least i would hope the daughter's arc would play out some more , since that group does seem to be crossing my path quite a lot now. Still deciding what side of them i should be (and whether i will actually have a choice).
