[MyGame] Dark Souls

The shield description only says resistant to poison. I would have taken that as reduced damaged, not 100% negation, but good to know.

I had to use a guide now, I was stuck. Killed the giant rat and all the basilisks again, and the fog door only revealed a caster and some rats. Had nowhere else to go.

I had walked up to the platform that looked over the large area below previously, but didn't see you can walk further if you go around the corner to your right. I feel so stupid for missing it.

Don't worry, I've been through the Depths countless times and I still get lost. That place is a labyrinth. Lucky you killed that caster before the boss fight. It's a nightmare when you're fighting the boss and this thing is throwing magic missiles at you.

I explored the Darkroot Garden and killed the boss there. Then I ventured into Darkroot Basin which probably wasn't a good idea. After which I made my way to the Undead Burg.

The giant wolf or the hydra? It's the first time I saw the giant wolf boss and it was just so damn cool. I actually felt bad killing it.

Nope I killed the Moonlight Butterfly. The other two are in the Basin. I turned around in the Basin just after I got the one shield that you get after killing a knight.

I've killed Sif twice and both times I was like "Goddamit Sif don't make me do it"

I killed the Capra Demon or well actually I summoned someone else who killed the Capra Demon while I killed the dogs. As in I had to do nothing really. It was great.

I went down from there up until the first bonfire. Tomorrow it's heading down into the hell that awaits! Unfortunately I'll only be able to play an hour or so before going out for most of the day. Luckily Monday is a public holiday!

So I killed the Giant Rat as well as the Gaping Dragon. I started towards Blighttown but realized pretty soon that it was a bad idea. So much poison!

I noped out of there and went to the Gardens instead. Killed the butterfly then went down to the Basin. Killed the Knight and the 4 Crystal Golem things, then saw something that looked like a giant Hydra in the distance and it was spitting something at me so I got out of there.

Opened the door in the tower and got my face punched in by the Silver Knight with the giant club (again).

Decided to take the lift down after the bonfire, and got face to face with some dragons that didn't really take much damage from me, so I turned back from there as well.

So tomorrow, I think I'll try and kill the Silver Knight, then farm some more poison things in the Gardens and then go back to Blighttown.
Also, what is behind the shiny door in the Garden? I know the Blacksmith sells the key but not sure if I should go in there yet :3

Eventful day!

Edit: Currently running with a Claymore +6 and the Tower Kite Shield (starting shield). I also picked up Elite Knight armor in the Gardens, so I'm wearing 3 of 4 pieces, so I don't fat roll. Working on getting my Endurance up so I can equip all 4.

Wow you are doing well!

I didn't get much time to play this morning but killed the Giant Rat and stopped there. Is it possible to wield the Claymore in one hand? I must maybe try that. I haven't upgraded a weapon past +2 yet! I'm also wearing some Elite Knight armour pieces except for the actual body armour where I'm still using the cleric robe that I started with. :)

Tomorrow I'm hoping for some good game time!

Yeah you can wield it in one hand. I think you can wield every weapon in one hand if you have the required stats. Using a weapon 2handed drops the stats requirements by 2/3, so a very high stat item can be used "sooner" if you use it 2handed.
You can equip any weapon you pick, even if it has very high stats, however you are slow to hit and recover, so basically not advised (try it if you haven't).

My Claymore is +6 at the moment, need more Large Titanite atm. I'm wearing full Elite Knight armor (thanks to the one ring I picked up, Havel's Ring) which boosts weight capacity by a lot!

I went to the Gardens and farmed a bit more, then went back to Blighttown. I hate that place. I'm dying more by falling than from enemies, and the damn blow dart assholes with their instant toxic suck! Which reminds me, PSA: Make sure you have a few blooming purple moss clumps, they are the only things that take away the Toxic effect, and trust me it is a bitch! You might also need a few regular purple moss clumps, however I haven't needed one. Thanks Spider Shield.

Something I only learned today, you can quit the game at any spot and then when you resume your game, you will be in the same spot. I thought you would go back to a bonfire (so far I have run back to bonfires before quitting each time because...reasons..I don't know, I'm stupid).

Haven't had much time for gaming today, so hoping to get some gaming done this evening.

I finished half of Blighttown and killed the flaming spider, not really a hard fight.

I found the dead, white spider and it/she wants me to join a covenant, but I'm already part of one, but I have no idea what the covenant does :/

I'll probably explore the other half of Blighttown tomorrow just so I get all the loots, then it is off to the newly opened area I suppose.

I'm also going to assume I shouldn't go into the Demon's Ruins just now.

Wow you are really cruising! I don't remember the Demon's Ruins from the last time I played so I would guess that it's something from later in the game. Have you taken out the Hydra and the wolf thing there by the Darkroot places? I remember doing that in the previous time I played. Back then I made it to Sen's Fortress before I stopped playing.

Yeah I feel it is going quite well at the moment, however I'm sure that will change :)

Hell no! That Hydra is vicious, I got close to it once and it just murdered me, so I'll leave that for later. As for the wolf, I believe he is found in the area behind the locked door in the Gardens, for which you have to buy the key from the blacksmith, and I haven't bought it yet.

Can perhaps do that before I go to Sen's Fortress? Quite a bit of souls required for the key though, so not sure if that reflects that the area is difficult :/

And here i havent even made it past taurus demon yet. Hopefully i can play tonight. But im still stuck in Oudtshoorn and im struggling to get the wife to leave her parents. That is the dark souls of life my friends.

Made quite a bit of progress yesterday. Cleared the Ash Lake, Blighttown, Darkroot Garden/Basin, Quelaag's Domain and Valley of the Drakes. So now I'm ready to take on Sen's Fortress.

Think I made a mistake joining the Forest Hunter covenant yesterday. The PVP seems pretty unbalanced. High level players just waiting to be invaded.

Definitely. That area is basically just a shortcut to Sif, for those who don't want to do the hydra. The enemies are a little tougher, but definitely manageable. They also drop insane amounts of souls so you make the 20k for the sigil back fast.

Cool, thanks Graal. I'll have to farm some souls then.

Wow that's a crazy amount of progress!

Talking about PVP. I was invaded just now and the guy destroyed me. My lightning spears did just about nothing to him.

I did however take out the dragon without dying. Surprisingly it was probably the easiest boss I've dealt with so far. After that I couldn't figure out how to get to Blighttown. Duh. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the big doors. The first enemy thing as you go down towards Blighttown knocked me off the ledge and I died. Will continue a bit later.

Yeah those guys are assholes, good luck with Blighttown.

I finished this ages ago. Would like to give it another go but my gpu died -_-

How does one get to Sif and the Hydra? Currently in Anor Londo..

If Sif is the wolf I keep hearing about, he/she is in the Darkroot Garden, behind the sealed door for which you but the key from the blacksmith.

The Hydra is in Darkroot Basin, you can't miss him.

From what I know, there is no quick way from Anor Londo to the Gardens (unless you can Teleport). Anor Londo > Sen's Fortress > Undead Burg > Darkroot Garden

Thanks! I'm guessing Sif is behind the door after the pvp area in the forest... Also guessing the hydra is towards that area where you get nuked with water...
