Dark Souls 2 Thread

Blazzok, I'm going to start on Sunday. Will most likely only play over weekends. Really looking forward to it!

I went through the whole thread and watched the Beginners video that BeoTeK posted.

Any assistance needed let me know. I haven't completed the DLC but I have been through the base game 5 times :D

I just realised that, some time ago we did some spring cleaning, and in doing so we packed in all the X1 games into a box. I now have to find that box to get the game out :D

Better make sharp! It should be on display in the living area for all who enter to be in the presence with!

I can't wait to start! I've got this Dark Souls craving. But I have to finish Child of Light first tomorrow morning and then tomorrow afternoon I have to go to a baby shower in Vaal Park of all places. I didn't even know men go to these kind of things. But my wife says it's mandatory.

So Sunday it is. Or maybe Saturday evening if I'm lucky.

I'll be ending up at work again this weekend, so not sure how much time I'll get to start DS2.

It's up to the baby shower organizers if men can come or not, usually it isn't mandatory though. Good luck, they can be quite boring sometimes - hopefully there is booze and a braai for the men. If that is the case, then usually the men have to bring a pack of nappies as a entrance fee.

Blazzok, it looks like you are working permanently. You are a faster player than me however so I'm sure you'll catch up to me when you start playing.

As for the baby shower... I don't even want to talk about it. It's just wrong.

Man it feels great playing a Dark Souls game again. I can't believe how smooth this one feels compared to the previous one. Also it looks much greater than I thought it would.

In the beginning I got my ass kicked by that hippo and I should probably have left it for a bit later. But as I progressed I got better and I killed the first boss. Lots of fun. I love how you explore every nook and cranny. Making sure you don't miss anything.

It does, doesn't it. I got a little bit of time today; haven't gotten to the first boss yet. I got up to the second bonfire in the forest and killed the two turtle bastards down below. There was something spitting fire at me in a cave, so I noped out of there.

So now I have to figure out which way to go, I have up from the bonfire, or down the ladder.

I also got my ass handed to me by the hippo/troll thing, and I knew it would, but I fought it anyway :D

Cool I'm glad you got some time to play! What class are you playing as?

I'm playing as a cleric again. It seems I'm a sucker for punishment.

Playing as a warrior, because I wanted to start with a shield. I played as a Knight in DS1.

I wish I started with a shield. I felt naked without one.

And the cleric starts with a mace but without the strength to wield it. I then realised that when you hold the weapon with both hands you can wield it properly. Unfortunately I only realised that after taking out the hippo guy in the tutorial area. :)

I should go back and kill it, just for funzies. I already got the loot that it is guarding.

I can't wait to play! Will most likely only be able to play on Saturday though. We are having family over on Sunday. But maybe I'll be able to play a little early Sunday morning.

Work has been a bit hectic for me and some events might have raised my blood pressure a bit. This has caused me to not really be in the mood for DS2 and the punishment it will bring.

Hopefully during the weekend I'll feel differently about it.

I'm sorry to hear about your week Blazz. Unfortunately DS2 isn't really the best game to just sit and relax with.

Yay I killed two more bosses in a very productive session this morning. First the Persuer who kicked my butt all over the place and then the Dragon Rider or something like that who was very very easy and I didn't die once with him.

I had an invader! And killed him! But I think it may have been an npc because on the XBox game hub it still says that I haven't vanquished any dark spirits. But then the hub also says that I'm still 0% finished with the game which makes no sense.

Nice dude. Yeah, the Pursuer was a tough one for me when I played through the first time, wait until later in the game! And Dragon Rider is kinda piss too, just the arena can be scaled to make it easier or tougher. But you'll have a nice little surprise when you head upwards.

I'm loving the game. There's just nothing quite like it.

I killed the dragon in that Tower of Flame area but it took a long while. The enemies leading to that area were hard! The Old Dragonslayer boss after the dragon is the most difficult enemy I've encountered so far in the game however. I just couldn't beat it and eventually gave up and made my way to the wharf area. There I cleared the area and just have the fog gate on the ship left.

If I can just find one more large titanite! My biggest problem at the moment is that I do so little damage. I'm a cleric faith user and I'm so disappointed when I used that lightning spear for the first time and it does barely any damage. Even with lots of faith.

But reading this now: https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkSouls3...spear_extremely_weak/?st=iv5c4hek&sh=79041069

I haven't been upgrading my talisman! So will definitely go do that.

Oh and I helped someone with a boss fight. That was a lot of fun!
