Help Voicy choose a phone !

Nope. It rolls over. But if I can't use it in one month, what makes you think I can use one and a half times that the next month, and more the next month...
It's so silly; calls are so cheap at this level that I can't use it up.
*women around the world sigh deeply for the young padawan*
Blasphemor! I thought you're a female - talk, talk, talk woman!

But ye, my R2000 balance was from 5-6 months of rollover too, and I used more than half of that in 2 weeks. It can be done. :D

Have a look at Cell C's contracts. I have a Cell C Casual Chat 100 contract for R115/month and surprisingly I got the Nokia N78 on it! I use my Vodacom contract's SIM card in the phone (as I won't actually *use* Cell C lol).
Yes, this is pretty much the point I wanted to get across, although not in the right words previously.
You must be on the lookout for these specials, I managed to get a USB HSDPA modem free (which retailed for R2500 at the time) on the MyChoice75 contract.

Must shop around for the right product that will fit your needs. There are way choice these days.

Hi Friends!

So I've decided the vodacom R135 topup contract is the best one for me.

The nicest looking phone in the list seems to be the HTC S710 ...

Can anyone give me their opinions of it please.

Its an Oldish phone, but im a HTC fan. Their older phones where a bit prone to Freezing and so forth. Looks fine to me man. Come this weekend (maybe before) im going to pick up an HTC Dream as my new business phone.

The contract is a bit of a bitch R530 per month but you get R345 airtime and 100mb data. The phone has someshort commings so check it out in a few reviews first but if, like me, you can live with a phone being a phone and not an mp3 player and/or camera you should be fine. Also the fact that its open source means dudes way smarter than me are creating app for it the whole time.

dammit you should have gone for the 3310 with the neon green screen ! now you wont be able to play snake, drop it off a ten story building (without breaking it) or get hugh amounts of radiation going to your brain when you answer your calls) :p

Omega, does the HTC phones e-mail download by itself or is it that whole push/e-mail setup? im due for an upgrade and i like the HTC but if i have to press a button for e-mail everytime id rather get the el-common blackberry.

If you are using a mail server that supports push email then pretty much any phone can do that. e.g. Gmail servers support push email, so I get my email just as fast on my 2 year old SE as I would on a BB. One minor difference is that on a non-BB phone it will chow data & cost, but its minimal. Like ~R5 per month or something.

You appear to be slightly confused about the terminology. Blackberry email = Push email. The Push part has nothing to do with pushing a button. And yes, the HTCs usually run Android, which supports push email.

oh well now i understand better... it was confusing the crappers out of me. So it will be the data cost thing thats an issue for me. i am currently getting nailed with internet surfing and FB and d/l e-mails on my current SE(which i have to press the refresh or download button)im gonna see if i can get a bold on my current contract as i dont want the Curve.
