I'm done with Starcraft 2.

I've only been successfully canon rushed once... "Cheesy" tactics are so simple to beat its scary, If you cant beat it then you're doing something wrong. I play in Gold league now and I must say the attempts at any sort of all-in strat is next to nothing because you've got to presume your opponent knows what hes doing.

I actually love playing against a terran that attempts a reaper rush because I will always have a stalker ready and waiting for him, setting him back for that useless harass and giving me extra time to boost my colossus out and rip him.

As for zergling rush haha, If you structure your base correctly he will have the most difficult time doing any damage of worth to your economy.. Zerlings that cant surround a unit get owned to say the least.

SC2 Multiplayer = "defend against cheesy tactics". Not something I want to do every game. It's like playing First Person Shooter games and KNOWING that someone is going to try and spawn rape every single game. It's stupid and annoying and puts me off the game completely because instead if playing the actual game you spend your entire game time trying to counter the spawn raper.

ITS A WASTE OF GAMING TIME!

Did you know that SCII actually has it's own version of DoTA? May not have as many heroes but that's obviously being worked on.

hahaha its not sitting countering cheesy tactics all the time, its playing well enough so that no matter what you're always prepared for whatever is being thrown at you.

Neo, your approach to the game might be wrong. If you think sitting back and playing simcity will win you games, you're sorely mistaken. Offence is the best defence ;)

I got protoss cannon rushed this weekend while playing as Zerg. Its possible to prevent it early, by scouting, but it was too late when I saw it. So I put a few spine crawlers down to prevent him from edging forward. Meanwhile, my scouting drone was sitting in his empty base, so I built a hatchery in his base while teching to roaches. By the time I had 3 - 6 roaches and a queen, sitting in his base, he could only muster up 2-3 zealots.

The guy, just smiled and said "lol, nice game." "cheese beaten by cheese". Whats the use of him having all those static cannons in your base, if he has nothing to defend his own base with your mobile units?

Anyways, I enjoy playing against guys who use cheese tactics, as I often win against them.

Agreed! If people aren't trying new things then it wouldn't be a strategy game would it?
Have you seen the new strats for countering Terran mech with Zerg? Muta's vs. Thors using what they're calling "The Magic Box" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68H8FeZHkWg

Neo, basically what you're saying amounts to this: you keep getting killed by the same cheese and you're pissed about it. If you KNOW that someone is going to do something, stop whining about it here and learn to COUNTER it...

Yes, I agree that people using the same strat every game is annoying, but this is part of the game. A lot of other people have given valid advice and opinions, but you don't seem interested in actually learning to play the game and counter certain strats, you seem to want everyone to play the game the way YOU want it because according to YOU "that is the actual game"...

Different people have different playstyles, I personally don't like cheese either but that doesn't mean it isn't a valid strategy, especially when you're playing ladder where the point is to win games by ANY means necessary.

Guys,

I'm gold in 4v4, and silver in 3v3 division 4. I KNOW HOW TO COUNTER CHEESY TACTICS. You're reading my posts and assuming I don't know how to play SC2. YOU ARE MISTAKEN.

That's just it. I know how to play SC2 and I'm telling you now it's stupid. Multiplayer in this game TAKES AWAY from the gameplay experience.

Theres the problem right there... 4v4 and 3v3. What do you expect in a 4v4 and 3v3 where the most obvious advantage you can get is to eliminate as many of the enemy players as possible as soon as possible?

You are more then welcome to your opinion, but saying simply that a game is 'stupid' is pretty... stupid.

It's my opinion - I can say whatever I want. It's a lame game with lame tactics.

Each game for me has been different, but I'm in the bronze league and playing against people who don't know any decent strategies and tactics. One game I played, a zerg player just made a whole row of spine crawlers and spawned a bunch of Hydralisks. Beat him down rather quickly with Colossi. Anyways... I play 1v1 only and at least then, people don't yell and shout obscenities and insults because you're doing something wrong. Otherwise, I simply ignore. ^_^

I'm playing in the same league as u, and what I noticed is there are some
awesome okes playing there , always willing to help u out congratulating
in winning games, not that I have won a lot only 2 out of the 7 games I played

Cheese can be really annoying, but as has already been stated scouting your opponent alleviates this problem. Eventually youll reach higher leagues where cheese tactics are rarer due to their high risk. I'd also hang around a bit for the first few balance updates blizz releases. You can always use the cheese yourself until then ;p.

And as stated by failtron above, 3v3 and 4v4 games are meant for cheese, there is no real balance to be had in those matchups.

Pretty much all the people I've played against were very neutral, didn't say much except gl.
I just know when/if I hit the silver league the players are gonna be douchebags.

Oh, dude...I know you. Sort of. We should play together I've gotten much better, 100 wins portrait ftfw :P

I can't stand 3v3 and 4v4. Actually you and me played a 4v4. Got absolutely raped. But they were quite good.

Fact of the matter is, I'll always try cut my opponent off so he can't mass, in whatever way possible. Whoever is the fastest, and can harass the best, will most likely win. If you do that with an initial rush then unfortunately it's GG. I honestly don't encounter many players who overdo a rush. Maybe 20 marine rush, or zerg rush. But I can rush marines like a boss. If it works I'll gladly take the win.

Scout with your 8th/9th worker and keep it in their base for as long as possible, this will always give you enough time to react. I suppose it would surprise you to hear that pro games mostly extend into the mid/late game. That doesn't mean their early game is any less aggressive, on the contrary they are often insanely aggressive. They just react to each other quickly, fast enough to keep their losses even and always trying to catch out their opponent in the few moments they don't know what they are up to. Its a game of constant pressure, early-late.

This is just how Starcraft (1 and 2) is and its not a crime to not enjoy this type of gameplay, as with every game, its not for everyone. Fortunately the game comes with the map editor, so there are tons more "mini-games" on the horizon for the people looking for something else.
