Official Call of Duty: Black Ops PC multiplayer thread

Nuketown is so much fun. Plain anarchy! Especially modes like demolition on it, where you simply spam the bomb sites stukkend.
Then, I had to do a system restore last night because something I installed on Friday night was completely screwing up everything. No problem, system restore worked like a charm. Then fired up some Blops to test my new Mweb 512 uncapped and couldn't browse a single server. So I then tried joining on a friend and I kept getting "exe_server_is_different blah blah blah" message. Tried my previous ISP and same. All I could figure was that after doing system restore for some reason Blops updates of the weekend also uninstalled themselves. Fair enough, but then why the hell did Steam not pick it up and redownload? Extremely annoying. Restarted PC. Restarted Steam. Verified local cache thingy. Nothing worked and nowhere is the a specific "check for updates" option. Screw that, I uninstalled and reinstalled. Was quicker and new updates downloaded. After that, sorted. Stupid F****** Steam. Why can't they sod off? And why can we not just get stand alone files for updates like BC2 did on their last round?

Yeah, but most people use that ninja perk. I can hear people that are not using it quite clearly, or their shuffling at least.

I have Roccat Kaves and i have a 5.1 speaker system and i struggle to hear the foot steps from far. another thing that bothers me a bit is the gun fire. Sometimes it sounds fine and other times i can be standing next to someone shooting and it sounds like they are using a silencer and they dont have one. I dont know if anyone else has this problem?

Yeah but I am talking about the guys who don't.
A so you also got the problem with that I though it was my sound setup. I have had a few where I can't hear footsteps at all even on metal. And also the gun that sounds like a silencer and not one without.

Same on My side. For all the cod5 boys this was an issue back then as well. Sometimes you could hear gunfire all around you, sometimes an oke will jump down from a ledge right next to you, reload his weapon, light a smoke and order a cheeseburger before you even remotely hear him

Anyone still having problems? I haven't had any for a while now. Had a disconnect or two last night but they were due to the actual servers bombing out.
Was playing like a maniac last night had three rounds in a row with KDRs of 10 or higher. Chopper gunner FTW!!!
I decided last night, stuff this bs and I bought an axxess lite 3 GB local only account. Works like a freakin' charm! No problems, just the occasional bit of stuttering. Other than that, I'm happy overall with the game

I still can't even play the single player and MP works one day and the next it doesn't. So, instead of being emo, I just decided they can go fck themselves.

Let's at least give them another chance at a patch. If that fails to produce, then I think it's safe for you to say "Up yours Activis(m)!"

Working like a charm. As much fun as this game is, I must be honest, I still prefer BC2. I know it's not them same game, but I derive more enjoyment from BC2. That is just my opinion.
What is annoying about Blops is how quickly some rounds can be over. You go to all the effort of loading map etc and 1min23sec later it's over on some game modes. A bit annoying.
Then, I also wish that players will work together sometimes. ESPECIALLY when there are choppers in the air. FFS, after dying 5 times in a row, maybe spawn with a anti air rocket and down the thing? One guy alone can't do it easily.
