The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - details begin to emerge

I hope they managed to make the world feel a little more alive. In Oblivion the world responded to my actions with a kind of Indifference.

Yeah I never really felt like a hero in that game.

I had several house and some of the most powerful magic spells and weapons imaginable but no matter who I killed it didn't really seem to matter much. I became the grey fox or whatever and with that mask i could pretty much do as i please.

What I would like to see. More populated world, inside and outside of cities, even "fellow" adventurers in caves and such. Hunters in the woods, ppl going to work stuff like that. Trade caravans going up and down the roads, simple things really that can enrich the entire gameplay experience.

I always found it arb that I was the only "adventurer" outside of the cities. Also hate Missions like "bandits have over-run place X" Then you get to place X and there are like 3 bandits to kill :|. Or you get a mission "Cave has been infested with goblins" Get there and there's a total of 5. WHOOPDIE DOO!

Also take the end of oblivion

*****SPOILERS******
You have to rally guards from every major town to come aid you in the final battle with that super oblivion gate. I mean this is supposed to be an EPIC FINAL BATTLE Where Cyrodiil's fate hangs in the balance. And what do you get, like 6 or something guards fighting along side you. LAME.

I know mostly with Bethesda games is that they are rather taxing on your system, but I mean come on they can really throw us some Huge Fights, Bandit raids with like 20 bandits or so, and Populated worlds

I wiped out most of the towns for fun. :p But don't get your hopes up at feeling like a hero.

I agree with Mappy on this one. They can learn alot by what was done in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, just please god with out the bugs, and little touches like people going to work and buying stuff would make the world alot more epic. I would also like to see a reputation system like in Fallout New Vegas, having different people like or hate you does add something to the gameplay.

the story sounds epic.

just lol once more that we start as a prisoner. again!

atleast it ain't a farmer :p

It is going to be absolute torture waiting for this game. Oblivion is the one game that I have spent the most time (not sure how much, but probably something like 500 hours or even more) on in my entire gaming life. I'm pretty sure Skyrim will be the only game that can beat that.

Same for me with Morrowind. I liked Morrowind more than Oblivion, but loved Oblivion too. What I disliked with Oblivion is the way creatures difficulty adjust to your level. It made the game too easy rather than more challenging. In Morrowind there where places you just could not go, because the creatures were so high leveled, and you had to either build your character up to tackle them, or (what I would do), find some crazy way to defeat them, by like poisoning them then paralyzing them then hitting them and running to hide, then repeat till they died. What was fun about that was the challenge AND when they died you got awesome items coz they were so high level. I remember finding a witch living in a cave with a troll-like thing guarding her. After defeating her, I saw she had two treasure chests with high lock levels, later on I found scrolls to open them and I got tons of awesome potions way beyond my level.

Also, I liked that there was no fast travel. You had to walk everywhere, and in doing so you encountered so many random adventures. You could travel long distances with those giant rider things, but they only took you to the major hubs, you had to explore from there. It made it feel real, but I guess they had to change stuff like that for console players and the masses who want instant satisfaction.

Still love the elder scroll games. Can't wait for Skyrim

EDIT: Just wanted to add, if you've played Oblivion and NOT Morrowind, get it now! With all the mods out, you can make it look almost as good as Oblivion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kly2djhLlP8 - and it will keep you occupied till Skyrim. It really is amazing.

You forgot about the most interesting way to travel in Morrowind, Scroll of Icarian Flight.

Haha, I love when you're walking through the jungly bit outside Seyda Neen and the dude just falls out of the sky. I read that you can create an area of effect spell to slow him and save him. The new mods for morrowind let you totally open up the viewing distance if the game, so imagine what jumping around using that scroll would look like now. Must reinstall..

I'm still busy with Morrowind andthe Uberfication (total mods loaded is over 3GB)

I'm the Nerevarine again, but Somewhere misplaced myinfinite scroll of Icarian flight :'(

No more superjumping :(

My bliksemse spacebar het gekaksorry vir die spaces.

Man this game just gets more epic every day!

some Lore
if I remember correctly the oriental weapons and armor come from a race of reptilian people" whose culture is heavy influenced by the Oriental countries, they oppressed the humans for many years, and the Emperor line was a hybrid of these reptilian people and humans, I read about this years ago, but I think these reptiles rode dragons

You are referring to the Tsaesci, which is a race of vampiric snake-like people on the continent of Akavir. There are also 3 other races on Akavir, the Kamal, Tang Mo and Ka Po'Tun, but the influence you mention is from the Tsaesci. Several Tsaesci served in place of the Emperor, but that ended in the 2nd Era when the last one and his heirs where all assassinated.

The Emperor line is descended from Akatosh, who's avatar is a dragon and is stated to be the first of the gods. It is rumored that his blood was mystically joined with the descendants of Alessia, who was the first Empress. The Emperors weren't descended from the Tsaesci.
