Mass Effect 3 Thread

Okay, I'm officially 100% negative about MP. People are already pissing me off. Some people just stand there upon starting the match, not playing, but just mooching off our XP and credits, and even worse are the match quitters.

The moment someone quits a match, it is rarely possible to finish it. It's surprising how much difference just a single person can make, but usually within two waves of the person quitting we get swarmed and die.

Even worse, they're wasting more than just our time. Ammo/armor/weapon mods need to be unlocked by buying randomized crates, and if you're lucky enough to get a mod it can only be used for one mission. A person quitting halfway through that mission means you've essentially wasted a mod on a mission you're going to fail.

Don't be a dick. Matches rarely last over 20 minutes. Just stick it out until the end.

Hey I am one of those match quitters - but mine is not on purpose and I try to get back to the match if I can :P

The MP is actually loads of fun and I think most people are enjoying it, so far besides my dc's I havent seen a match quitter - but then again been playing with people I kinda know :P

Play with people you know and that won't be an issue, plus it's way more fun that way.

LOL you certainly were rage quitting on us Saturday :p. You need to get sorted out asap so we can save the galaxy. :)

Hehehehe Jirre you should have heard me on sat eve and sunday :P I lost it completely at one point. Getting a test router in today to see what is up with the line, since WA just tells me its a problem on either the router, filters or something like that. I tested the line without the wifi router on, (I always blamed the wifi for the drops - but it still happened so yea new router is on its way)

Is anyone else finding the ingame voice very soft? Its really hard to hear people?

I heard you load and clear, background dog barking and all. My brothers also seems to be fine, it's just Waco's that was very very soft for some reason.

I was struggling to hear all of you, I had the ingame sound down to 3% just to make out what you where saying. Was rather frustrating :P Will keep it on push to talk to keep the dogs barking out :P Trust me you just heard a little bit :P And there are 2 of them that goes bonkers over the neighbours cats :P

I like those dogs in the background ... Adds atmosphere :)

I don't feel I need to use PTT since I don't have any background noises, but the 'tapping-on-keyboard' sound will be audible, and likely lead to annoying the crap outta my mates, so uh ... PTT FTW then ... :)

Here's some info to clarify how the multiplayer influences your ending.

You do NOT have to play multiplayer to get the best single-player endings.

Here’s a bit of clarification:

Your ending(s) are determined by your “Effective Military Strength” (let’s call it EMS for now) bar. Focus on that bar – that is your indicator of how well you will do in the end-game.

You can maximize your EMS just by collecting War Assets in the single-player game. There is a certain threshhold of these you would need to exceed (I can’t get too specific) but I can tell you there are MORE than the required amount that can be gathered in the single-player campaign.

“Galactic Readiness” is a modifier you can improve by playing multiplayer. That is to say, if you play a lot of multiplayer, you will need less War Assets from single-player to fill up your EMS bar (ie it will balance out the requirements to account for you playing in both modes). Single-player game play does not impact that bar.

EMS = success. EMS can be maximized via collecting war assets alone, even if your Galactic Readiness is 50%.

I like this new semi-seamless style of gameplay ... Reminds me of Dead Space 2 every time a (cut)scene comes to an end.

The dodge system is getting a bit annoying, tbh. It's still got the same issues where the game doesn't always do what you want to, ie roll when you want to duck, jump when you want to roll, etc.

Still, nothing gamebreaking, only keyboard-breaking from frustration. :P

I find myself shouting at the "space bar does it all" concept mostly during multiplayer.

I really wished they'd've had the [Shift] = Sprint concept. Despite the amount of hours I've spent playing this game, habit'll eventually take over, and I'll find myself hitting [Shift] instead of [ S P A C E ] so often... :C

I agree the A button does too much. Roll, cover, run. I find Shep popping out of cover for no good reason or refusing to popout when I try and aim.

Just played it for 5 hours and want to take a break but as soon as I exit I want to go back in and I am going back in :p Dam addictive just a few announces like the cover system and the weird quest log. and the stupid scanning thing in the ship OMG!

Also getting a little annoyed with that. I find taking cover sometimes frustrating.

Yeah sometimes it just doesn't stick in the right place. I do like that elevated enemies can now shoot you even while your behind cover. I do find that in certain situations hitting adrenaline rush and actually running at the enemy, firing my mattock in rapid succession can save me. Close range I can have an unarmored enemy dead in 2 or 3 shots, Armored or Shielded enemy takes a little more though they go down fast even if I dont have the right ammo ability active. The only time the right ammo type is crucial is against Phantoms or Engineers, when you absolutely have to kill that engineer before he drops that turret.

Man I'm so surprised at how much I'm enjoying the MP. I reckon I'm going to be playing ME3 for some time after I finish the SP.
