The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition: all you need to know

I was weak and picked up a copy during my lunch. Got it for 99p (R12) by trading two titles I no longer play & I got a shirt with it. Will never fit me so my wife now has a really cool Witcher 2 Shirt.

All I need to know is my patch download finishing already. I want to to this run of the game with my Xbox controller. :)

Started it over the weekend, what an awesome game.

But damn, the combat is difficult to get into. I was savagely and embarrassingly butchered by the first wave of grunts I came across.

The start of the game is quite brutal. I pulled my hair out on a number of occasions when it was originally released.

Dude, it's bordering on ridiculous. Last night I tried one of the first quests where you have to fight off a bunch of nekkers in a cave and I got my ass handed to me several times. I've yet to beat the damn bastards.

I suggest you invest in 'Quen' and always put it up before a fight, it increases survivability a lot. Also use potions that could aid you during those fights, I can't specifically think of good ones to use atm.

I've been using Swallow but it's as slow as all hell. I think it's time to practice my kiting skills.

Just got my enhanced edition.
Let's see how this pans out.

Dan is not filling me with much confidence :D

Cool. I take it it still uses that "lock on" function though.

Wait....that was Witcher right?

It's not, but sometimes it borders on ridiculous. Try playing it on the hardest difficulty, you will wish for Dark Souls. :)

As long as its fair and uses the mechanics established by the game during the early levels I'll be happy.

No it's a lot more fluid and dynamic. You roll around a lot.

That sounds good. I couldn't get into the Witcher 1's combat. It felts really alien.

Updating! Really great of them to give the Enhanced Edition to those who initially gave support, hope to see more companies following in their footsteps with the no DRM thing as well.

I agree that the combat is really hard, in fact the combat is what got me rage quitting after the first few missions... But if you learn how to use your magic properly and know when to dodge then it gets a lot easier, not to mention that killing a mob and seeing his ragdoll spaz out is always rewarding!

I hate your wife right now. :p

It really sucks that we don't get those deals with the shirts here in SA, at least I finally got a medallion in the Dark Edition.

This seems really interesting. I remember that when the first game came out, many members of another community could not stop talking about it. I will add this to my games-to-play-one-day list, I am swamped with a ton of games and the exams coming up soon.

The graphics and gameplay seem to be awesome though...

Man I had to take a dive with the Dark Edition - was just a bit expensive at this point. Happy with the guide book and the soundtrack.
