I was able to log in twice today. Early morning and around 8pm. Tried the Barbarian and Wizard, friend of mine tried the Witch Doctor, Monk and Demon hunter. Good fun....good time waster until Guild Wars 2 arrives.

Have actually logged in a few times today. Even managed to get my SO to play with me (I played barb-level 10- and she played monk-level 8-)before we both got so frustrated with he lag that we both gave up. The game was fun up to that point but waiting for 2-7 seconds before your hits registered due to the terrible lag wasn't so much fun. The barb at least allows you to just click away and normally you'll be fine but I believe with the other character classes it won't be so easy.

So I'm hoping the game will be lag free come release time otherwise I'll be pissed :)

I've played it aswell. Even though im not really a Diablo fan the game seemed quite nice, but the lag kinda ruined it for me.

Then don't play beta's Lag is always bad on beta normaly it is sorted in the first week.

That reasoning is a bit stupid isn't it...? People know that they could experience lag and try to play the game. Then the lag gets so overbearing that they give up. At least they still got a taste of the game even if in the end they stopped playing...

so i finished it with monk and wizard ... couldnt start SP with wizard so i just a public game ... 300ms is still playable ... now to try the other classes

one thing i think they can do is add a sort button in the inventory, manually moving things around is so out dated.

i do feel they made the game abit easier to play with the whole way the skills are done :-/

It was a stress test, only reason why it was an open beta was to see if they could break the servers and see capacity. And they did both. I was expecting major lag but I got to see the game and that is all that I wanted.

First day buy for me.

Okay so the game has improved considerably. The stutter is gone, the framerate is higher and the ping is stable.

I'm confident this is going to be a really good game, but I do have one gripe. If you get dc in the middle of a boss instance you can forget about rejoining it, the game won't let you.

I found out this hair puling annoyance today and I wish Blizzard would allow you to rejoin a boss instance that you were part of, it's massively irritating...

It's been difficult to get a lot of game time in, but the beta is meant for Blizzard, not for us really, so I can't complain.

I'm trying to think of some criticism for the game, but all I can think of is the graphics, which I knew weren't going to be great, but had hoped it'd be a touch better. The art style is awesome though, so that makes up for it and I'm sure once I've picked up some good armor I'll not be able to see the mediocre quality of my hero.

The game itself is shaping up to be excellent, they've done so well to remain true to the Diablo roots, while also expanding upon everything that made the first two such amazing games. I was a bit unsure of how the new skill mechanics would work, but there seems to be a ton of choices and it'll be great to try out all the combos up till level 60.

I played a Monk and Wizard. Didn't finish with the Wizard, but he did feel slightly weaker than the Monk, which is probably expected for a lower level caster. Anyway, both felt fluid and satisfying.

I can't remember waiting so long for something. I've wanted this game since back in 03/04 and had always been praying there'd be an announcement... it was finally made all those years later... and even more years later till we got to see the game proper and now it's almost done. Loads of my friends don't really play games anymore, especially PC games and I can't believe the number of them that are coming back from the dead for this. I'd love to do a Breivik and take a Diablo 3 sabbatical. Bring on May 15!

Played the Beta earlier and enjoyed it.
Got into it to such an extent that I'd actually forgotten it was a Beta.

Played as a Demon Slayer. Love ranged attacks. Does considerable damage and you're much less likely to get hurt.

Haven't played any of the previous titles though, but if this (The Beta) is anything to go by ... I'll definitely buy this game.

anyone else having issues loggin in? :(

edut : I can login, but Im getting timeouts when clicking resume game

It's a stress test and Bnet said there would be intermittent connection problems keep trying. I would assume with the beta ending soon the server are under stress because people want to get one last game in before launch.

When the USA was sleeping it was no problem getting in.

- For those complaining about lag, I suggest you start looking at your own line and ISP. Thou it will be allot better for all ISPs when there are EU servers, it does definitely matter who you have as your ISP.
Ppl who go around complaining when the issue starts at home are just keeping themselves from enjoying the game.
IE, I enjoyed playing with friends the weekend without any serious lag problems (constant 330ms). And to think it was a stress test weekend can only mean good things for the 15th

Uncapped accts and IS based accounts usually struggle with latency to US. Normal telkom accounts also used to be crappy everywhere internationally (have not had one to test in some time).
IS based capped accounts like Afrihost are usually pretty decent to EU

But no doubt the best around for International gaming US & EU have to be Web Africa. Having a stable 300 - 330ms to the US and 200ms to the EU gives you the best possible experience you can hope for from SA. (just make sure your line quality is not the problem)

*** Others are welcome to give some feedback (US & EU) on the ISP's they using to help the rest :)

Also got to play some open beta this weekend. Started the download on Friday as soon as I found out about the open beta. It took me quite a while to get the game working though. I got the retarted stuck at 70% "Updating setup files..." bug along with some other problems. I finally got my game fixed by Saturday evening, was a huge relief to get it working, wanted to play it so badly!

Played the barbarian first off, cause it's my favourite. Barbarian becomes rather powerful, just love him. Played Monk as well, but still love my Barb better. The whole beta was pretty easy. I was never in danger of dying even once, so maybe they can make it a bit more difficult or something, will see what the retail D3 is like.

Also joined a few public games, just dropping in. Was really great fun to just take your character and go online and play with other people. I have a greater understanding now for why Blizzard made the game online only, something that pissed me off when I first heard it.

One of the big reasons I wanted to play the beta was to see what the latency would be like and if it would make the game unplayable, in which case I wouldn't buy it. So, concerning latency, my latency was usually between 300-400ms, which was actually fine. It (surprisingly) was not really noticeable. I would have thought 300ms to be way to high for playing diablo with. So playing on EU servers should reduce this to about 200ms I would guess.

To those interested, I have a 1Meg Uncapped line with Afrihost (IS). But like SnowWar said, the quality of the line matters. You can have a 10Mbps line, but if the quality sucks it won't help you at all. When I get home today, I will run a Pingtest to somewhere in Europe and I will post it here. Maybe the rest of you can do this as well, we should just all pick the same place to ping.

Right now I'm super excited about D3, cannot wait for May 15!

Well I was playing with my brother on the same line on Sunday (1Mb) and the ping was just under 350 and we didn't lag once so I'm confident the EU servers are going to be flawless in that regard.

Something that I did realize thou was that as with all Blizzard games D3 does put allot of focus on the CPU and with 4 ppl playing and a sh#tload of monsters and spell effects FPS can drop for a bit (Crtl+R for fps I think) on +- the recommended system.

Thou Blizzard has said the release versions runs allot better, but I still found that kinda weird.

I did notice that as well, but I'm not sure if it was CPU or GPU related. To me it looks like a GPU load since it only slowed down slightly when tons of effects and monsters were on the screen.

The beta is easy but the difficulty does ramp up when you play co-op which I found out the hard way when I had like 3 of those huge beast dudes plus like 30 other guys chasing after me while my buddy was off checking bookshelves or something. :) I'm pretty confident it's going to get hard.

@SnowWar dude seriously, please don't get mad but reading allot all the time to me is like grinding a chalkboard, I will pay you in cake to type a lot. :)
