You did not play beta perhaps? If you had the beta client you need to wipe it completely and download new client. My beta client did that. Thing also is, the launchpad is problematic for some, read on official forums for possible solutions.
 
My characters are

Ph4tso - EU Miller - Vanu Sovereignty
Ph4tsoTR - EU Mallory - Terran Republic

Started my TR character due to the Miller issues last night (I know these have been fixed since), to try a new faction and to help a clanmate get to grips with the game. TR are pretty cool too. Their guns shoot.. bullets, not lazerz.

I am going to do some research on how to create an outfit, maybe create a ZA outfit. Problem is that you need 20+ guys to make it actually work. I might wind up joining an existing active outfit that have all the knowledge already.

Make no mistake, without comms and cohesion, the game is total and utter unorganized chaos. Working in a platoon / squad that actually PTFO makes an immense difference to the experience.

Leyzerbeam TR on EU Cobalt
Leyzer VS on EU Miller
Leyzerman NC on EU Woodman

I was thinking of starting an outfit called South African PlanetSide 2 followed by the Team so (TR/VS/NC)
so it would be SAPS TR i have made that on Cobalt if any one is keen.

Can't wait to buy the c4 pack for the Light assault,it's a bit expensive at 200certs but i make around 60certs an hour.

I'm really beginning to hate steam. After trying to back the game up it fails and now steam is downloading 3GB again. I'm very close to just leaving this...

that has happened to me a lot with other games. it's like as soon as you make a backup it corrupts the game and then starts downloading a chunk again
