Guild Wars 2

So after searching through the various types of dungeon armor vendors in LA, i decided to have a look at the CoE armor and found this... don't know if this will work as a look.. maybe? maybe not :wtf:

You look like a golem.

With claws :D

I'm kinda disappointed that they're not doing Canthan New Year. I can understand this since Cantha isn't really a part of the world at the moment, but surely there are some Canthan refugee descendants amongst the Krytan population.

Guild quests sounds awesome! And I think the choose-your-own-achievement system is a good idea, if only to cut down on some of the moaning about dailies.

Some people always moan when you push them out of their comfort zone. Personally, I'm loving it, although I now have to keep a close eye on my progress so I can make sure I finish them on the right character.

Here's my Mystic Staff, too bad the stats are random and they suck, so going to transmute the look to my current staff.

Oh, I agree with that absolutely, but that's why this is such an elegant solution, IMO. The moaners can tailor their achievements to suit them, so they can grind it out it ten minutes, while the guys that likes getting pushed a bit will let themselves be pushed still. Personally, I found the dailies to be too much of a distraction from enjoying the rest of the game, so I just ignore it; now I might be able to cobble together a list of dailies that I'm actually interested in! :D

@Glords: Looking good, dude. Looking real gooooooooood.

@cronus - ignore the boss man - that set looks awesome!

I have to say I might moan about the dailies but they actually are helping me level my mesmer without any issues. Shadow we need to do the guild photo tonight I think... Or next monday evening - since a few people wont be around for it otherwise.

Yeah ... I don't know how to go about this now, because by the time I log off only 2 or 3 other people are online - and only you and Avatar have responded to the FB post. So, it's all up in the air at the moment.

I'm putting my graphics card back in tonight, so I'll be online. :)

Talking of graphics cards, have an nVidia GTX550Ti, an occasionally get a "black screen" only GW2 is affected, the rest of my apps are fine :(

Apparently a known issue ... , with nVidia ... :(

Try under clocking it a little? Drop the Graphics Clock, Shader Clock and Memory Clock by about 100 MHz. Also try enable frame locking or enable Vsync, some GPU's on unlimited frame rates can push the temps to 100c easily.

Just started playing, any tips? I have a lvl 3 Human Elementalist

Get used to dying a lot in the beginning, at least until you get used to playing an Ele :D

I'm not saying this to discourage you ;) - despite the amount of moaning I especially do, the Elementalist is an awesome class to play with, but it's extremely challenging to play it effectively - put aside all thoughts of being someone who stands at a distance and lays down high volumes of death and stays safe.

My initial tips would be, get used to playing dagger/dagger, get used to moving around a lot and learn how to dodge effectively - given the fact that Elementalists are cloth-wearers and also have the lowest base health-pool, that is your ticket to staying alive. A staff elementalist is playable, but personally I reserve my staff for when I'm running with a crowd of other players - it's great for laying down combo fields and adding some healing support. It's not so great for taking on veterans in solo play.

The thing is that you will need to figure out what suits your playstyle best - you'll get conflicting advice from different players of the class. Myself, I favour using condition damage (burning, bleeding) to wear my enemy down - and I tend to play with a scepter/dagger build most of the time, but I use dagger/dagger as well. I almost never use my staff except when I'm taking on champions/bosses with a group of other players.

Other players will tell you to focus on power, which also works, but Eles aren't big on burst damage.

The best bit of advice I could give you is to hook up with someone in-game who can explain the ins and outs to you, and if they have experience playing an ele that would be a double bonus.
