Path of Exile

Loving this game, lvl 36 frost witch and lvl 20 hardcore templar reporting for duty. Carpetgirl and Sillinoob respectively :)

It's also recommended to people who were not disappointed by Diablo III (like myself). "whistling:

Haha, that's why I said fans of action RPG's first. IMO this game is much closer to Diablo II than what Diablo III is.

Diablo III was/is a good game, but after a while I just got bored with it and everytime I created a new character (of the same class) it would usually end up playing very similar if not identical to other characters of the same class. Not so much with PoE, the MASSIVE passive skill tree allows for a lot of in-depth character creation and you can therefore create your own unique builds.

Character customization is very important in a RPG for me and if I can't change the way my character looks I want to be able to control how my stats and skills are leveled up/unlocked.

Also really enjoying this game. Just finished off Vaal on my level 24 Shadow. Played a few throwaway characters before settling and have a pretty decent build going.

Would love to jam some MP with people that don't loot / sprint through all content. Add me: PhatSlice

How do you guys play with the lag? I mean sometimes when I play the server will just flop over and die?
As soon as they fix that and upgrade the netcode I think this game is going to be awesome. One thing I do not like is how dated this games gfx looks :(

I am actually very impressed with their latency handling. My ping is a rock solid 200ms or 199ms. I haven't seen such reliable pings even from the big fish.

Ja I also have bad lag problems as the latency spikes whenever I attack, but it's because I am on a 3G connection, which is useless for playing on international servers. Lonewolf, if you are playing on a poor connection like 3G then I doubt any netcode fixes are going to help much :P

I dont lag, neither does anyone i play with. We play on Mweb standard uncapped btw. They dont have to fix their netcode tbh, you need to fix your connection ! The game's netcode is fine. The game's gfx is dated against crysis and stuff like that, but not against other ARPG's like even diablo. Diablo is just more bright, while this is more gritty and dark.

Anyone else getting crazy lag with this game? It was fine in the beginning, but the last couple of days it's been terrible. I keep rubberbanding or the game seems to lock up for a few seconds and then jumps forward, e.g. I attack mobs and use spells and nothing happens then a few seconds later everything just "happens" really quickly. Latency is going crazy, anything from 150 to about 1000+. I can't seem to find the problem as all my other online games are working fine.

I have been getting lag this week as well although not a lot of rubberbanding but I do get a delay at peak hours. Not too noticeable but I had none in the beginning.

I haven't played in the last few days, but that aside my latency has been rock solid at 199-200ms recently. The only time I really had some bad spikes was playing just after the launch.

Lag has been shocking since yesterday. First thought it was just the Seacom outage with Mweb, but the actual game has been having serious issues.

Adding whose nicks I can find in this thread!

Add me too: roskii (31 templar) :D

My lag has actually gotten a lot better since the last time I posted in this thread. Played for a quite a while yesterday and the day before and I didn't get the rubberbanding once, although it still froze for like a second a couple of times.

You guys can add me as well (not sure if I've posted my profile before), profile name is Myrdlok and I have a lvl 21 Ranger (can't remember the name right now) and a lvl 28 Shadow (Cryximer).

I havent played this but my brother-in-law was trying to update this, this weekend with constant dc problems. I was sitting with 150ms in wow so it must be there servers perhaps?

I've been playing this for a fair amount of time since Open Beta, but since a few of my friends lost interest it's not as much fun sitting at level 52(Vindisama Wand Temp) soloing Cruel Act 3 and not getting any good drops for the last 20 levels has been really bad luck.
Will probably wait till the actual release before picking it up again I think.

I am enjoying it quite a bit. Got my first character to Act1 Cruel and realised that I must have made a big mistake in my build. That was my shadow.. Temporarily parked.

Rolled a witch now, going full blown cold crit. So far, enjoying it quite. Just started Act2 Normal.

The game will last for me if I manage to make some online friends to jam with or if I get to max level. I know very few ZA gamers playing this and without the MP aspect, I can't stay attached to a game.
