I have a strong reaction because you are doing nothing short of insulting some of my friends.
Well, in all fairness, you're (as in players in general) not going to get decent at the game playing bots. When I used to play (live) Dota, I played against a couple of guys who "practiced" against bots a lot. Yeah... they were pretty terrible. It was the same thing with guys who played CS. Bots don't prepare you at all for playing against real players beyond giving you some vague idea of what the enemy champions do.
I have no problem with people playing bots if that's what they want to do, but they shouldn't pretend that they're decent at the game. I am in Silver IV in LoL ranked and don't consider myself decent at the game. I'll probably start thinking I'm ok/pretty good when I reach at least Silver I, since that's roughly the top 25% of the players on the server.
Matchmaking is barely balanced.
If you matchmake with a friend then your likely to get people that are lvl 25+ in a group of <10 just because two are grouped.
That's not balance. Matchmaking is only balanced at 30 and ranked.
It doesn't take that long to get to level 30. Roughly 110 wins from what I've read on the forums, but yes, even normal matchmaking can be very harsh to inexperienced players. This just leads me back to scratching my head about people playing a hard game with a pretty big learning curve (although it's not as bad as dota) for "fun".
