Thief System Requirements Revealed

Interesting that the recommended is an i7, I would think it would run fine with a i5 or even an i3.

Yeah makes no sense, I think the i5 games better than the i7 (unless it's a 4770K :p)

I'll be able to play it at least, I think this will fill the gap that Dishonoured created, at least I hope so.

Wow :wtf:, times are tough! Im barely meeting the minimum requirements with 4gb ram and an ati hd6770 graphics card

Maybe they inflated the requirements or they're just really bad at optimization? I honestly can't see that a game in 2014 that's still running on the Unreal Engine 3 can have such high requirements.

Maybe its using the engine's full potential for the game.

Rubbish. 10 internet points says you can max the game with an i5 if the GFX is strong enough. i7 lol...

Seriously which fool drafted these specs.

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD / R9 series or better / Nvidia GTX 660 series or better
R9 is cutting edge...Radeon HD covers a lot of ground...like 5+ year old tech...yet they are both presented as recommended spec. The 660 is also not even close to comparable to R9.

Man I hope these okes are better at building games than writing specs.

Damm another game I Can not play, I am going to have to stick to arcade games, does the same people make tomb raider and thief.

I am gonna buy it and play it on my friends i3, I wonder if he is gonna have the proper recommended pc hardware to play this.

Not the same developers, but both games are published by Square Enix yeah.

Yes bad optimization looks at Call of duty ghosts shakes head.

Has anyone played the previous thief games? Would like to know if they were any good.

They were pretty good stealth games back in the day. I don't think they'd be as appealing today though. They've aged quite badly in my opinion. Best to wait for the reboot and decide if it interests you.

Seconded. Avoid the the first in the series, they've aged really badly. However on release there was nothing like it and it has in my opinion, been the stepping stone of that genre into gaming.

I think the first two thief games are still the best pure stealth games in existence. The graphics may be terrible (they were even bad back then), but the gameplay, story and atmosphere can't be beat, in my opinion. I'm cautiously optimistic about this new one, but I'm going to wait for some reviews before I get it.

Pretty sure U3 engine can eat up 6 cores and 6 threads very easily, you must remember it's a powerful cinematic tool as well. How ever, if one looked at how well UT3 scaled and it's a bit odd that they still ask for a i7. I am confident that my Original i5 will be enough to play it.
