New NCSoft MMO - Wildstar

Well, we've been giving Carbine a ton of feedback, and they've been listening and making huge changes. I think that's the whole point of BETA testing, not just playing the game early! ;)

Awwww! I was hoping to see you in it ;-(

haha... I'm sorry... :(

Ironically, I'm leaning toward Elder Scrolls Online again. I need an MMO fix and I kind of enjoyed it enough to play but still not sure if I enjoyed it enough to want to spend that much money on it.

Oh well...

Look forward to gaming with you again one day too :)

Aw. Pity Lycanthrope. I'm absolutely loving the difficulty level of WildStar. There have been a lot of complaints about it, however, it's something that I've found to be sorely lacking in most AAA titles of late.

I can smell that difficulty being hit by the nerf bat. People don't like hard ;-P

Doubt it. Carbine aren't willing to make it easier. This has been said numerous times.
They're catering to raiders. If they make it easy, the raiders will lose interest and return to WoW.
The people who 'don't like hard' usually leave after the three month window period, so it makes no difference anyway!

The 40 man raids are the main thing that has me interested in wildstar. Hopefully they are hard as f..

Played it this past weekend; established that I'm not a fan... :(

So far i am with you.. WS is not interested enough yet, so far i've been sucked into ESO more than WS, but will give WS another go once the last BETA's appear to see the true colours of the game, been in one BETA and was really not a fan at all.

Unfortunately, after much hype I'm not too drawn into either ESO or Wildstar :/ If I had to choose between the most interesting of the two from my initial impressions, Wildstar wins. But truth be told I can see myself getting far more enjoyment out of Guild Wars 2 on an ongoing basis despite the fact that it's almost 2 years old than these new games.

I am with you on this, have a look at Everquest Next.. looks interested, we need a next gen MMO and seems Everquest Next is going that route.

Wildstar has some of the features I have always loved in a few MMOs that dared to have them:

1. Mentoring, tools to scale yourself down to play with friends and tools for friends to scale themselves up to play with higher level friends in dungeons.

2. Fully functional housing

3. Alt supportive environment.

I know some MMOs have some of these but none has them all.

Yes, WS has kill x collect y quests
Yes, WS has non individual gathering nodes

I guess nothing can be perfect ;-P

I am looking forward to a long time in Wildstar.

I agree, Shrike. Thus far all of the so-called "Next Gen" MMOs have been decidedly "Last Gen" imo, and have failed to sustain any kind of longevity. I too look forward to many hours of WildStar and, from what I have experienced thus far (bugs or no) it's providing exactly the kind of challenge so many other MMOs have failed to yield.

FFXIV:ARR is still the highest quality MMO I've played to date, however, the lack of EU servers and latency issues make effective end game raiding impossible. Depsite this, I'm looking forward to to Patch 2.2 after my long break! And then on to WildStar!

Wildstar will probably be my last theme park mmo. From there on I'll probably just invest time in sandbox. I hope the repopulation and sony's unannounced mmo turns out great.

Also just thought I'd mention that many Grim Wolves members gained access to the BETA and are definitely going to be playing together with the intention of making progress in the eldergame. Being Horde players for many years, Dominion is our preferred faction (as I'm sure you gathered from that Photoshop comp I made). It is likely that we'll be reunited with our WoW raiding colleagues, and I'm excited to see how we fare! I'm sure that Wyvern, Isen, Frudi, Caboose and other MG-GW members will vouch for our RL, Vahlor, who has been successfully leading raids since 2004.
