It’s too late to start playing these games
Thinking about maybe giving World of Warcraft a go? Don’t

I would probably put Half Life 1 on this list. I realise that it was epic at the time but I never got around to playing it. I tried playing it recently and it really hasn't aged well. I understand how you may enjoy it if you played it before, but as a totally new experience, I didn't enjoy it.

Really? Aside from the graphics being dated HL1 aged very well. I don't see any reason why new players should be put off by playing one of the best FPS games made.
WoW's player count is down to about 6.8m at the moment, but it should increase with the new expansion. They've actually made the game very newb friendly, part of the reason most of the older players don't like it anymore, too much "Hand holding". But it is actually pretty easy to pick up and start as a fresh player nowadays, much easier than it used to be.
THIS and soooo much THIS.
Played WOW from when it came out till around 2012 with the PUG raids and find a group crap came out. No more CC needed just jump and pew pew to get that epic loots.
Man do I miss the days where gank central was at the latest summoning stone and when openworld PvP was where its at. Hell Blizz made it even more noob friendly with insta level on certain purchases.
Can I disagree with the entire idea that it's too late to play these games? That's just a ridiculous notion. All of these games are good in their own regard and offer different kinds of experiences.
The whole article kind of feels like it's saying "don't try completely new things because you might have to spend time learning stuff and/or potentially suck at first".

Personally,i don't even know what the point of the article is.
He's basically telling you not to play these games because of his own biased reasons.
