ArcheAge

Yea , 15g minimum on Nui server , so definitely something fishy/hackery about that specific server with that low pricing . Methinks someone found a duping hack or there's someone pumping way too much money into the game... i mean stacks of 50 pots that alone is like $100 worth of credits easily.

flip I better check this tonight!!!

Tonight I should have my cart, and then I need to work out the routes im goin to take. But with Planetary annihilation finally getting offline mode today I might be slinging moons at planets for a little while.

Maybe have both running, trade route on 1 screen, PA on the other

Heh luckily AA is one of those games that you can kinda keep open on the side to earn LP. Lots of waiting, my latest trade route is crafting a pack in Solis, sailing around the coast to Villanelle , jumping on the airship to Falcorth from there and handing in for a cool 7-8g a shot. Much more exciting than a donkey/carriage walk across the continent.

Has anyone been lucky enough to score a thunderstruck tree? I'm gonna start plopping pines down as soon as i find a spot for my large farm.

From what I understand u can only do this out at sea on those islands. Its the only places where there is lightning, but I could be wrong

No, trees can be struck by lightning anywhere. There's a thread on the official forums where people are trying to see whether it's random or specific to certain trees or regions. So far looks random to me, but some do believe Pine is prone to being hit (or alot of people plant them) . Apparently trees that takes very long to mature might have bigger chance to be hit.

A guildmate got a thunderstruck tree the other night on his farm, it is 4 logs . He sold it for 600g . Crazy stuff.

Think i'm going to level an western alt for intercontinental trades. Meat at secret location, quickly log and trade packs.

Can you still mail and share each other's farms and stuff if in different factions? It seems like alot of effort though, considering you will need to still travel across both continents with a trade pack . The only thing you are saving yourself from here is PvP in the harbors, isn't it easier to just craft the pack on the enemy continent and travel back to safe port?

This is what trade running is looking like on out server, makes for a quite social experience hehehe.

Oh and my house and farm operation:

Slowly working towards a thatched farmhouse and farm cart , will see whichever comes first. Farmhouse needs a ton of resources though.

Downloaded it yesterday and played for about 30min this morning, I really like the feel of it so far, the movement etc, that is something that immediately puts me off other MMO's, how it feels to move your character around, and this seems good.

Will try get through the intro quests / areas tonight and get a bit more involved.

Question, you don't have to get to max level before doing all the trading / farming / owning houses etc ?

Are certain items like ships etc level capped at all or is leveling more for the PvP orientated people ?

You can start trading/farming/etc at level 10. There are no level restrictions on anything except armor and weapons. If you can afford it then you can craft it.

Actually i believe this is how you should level, don't grind quests, farm and trade from the start. I am lvl 37 and 80% of it is all craftijg/farming/trading.

No level caps on stuff, proficiency caps on what to craft tho (so you need to craft to craft better stuff, not char level based)

I had my clipper at lvl 20, got my farm cart lvl 35, gliders and mounts at lvl 10.

I really like that you dont have to reach a certain level for things, lets you do things your own way instead of forcing you to level before trying things out. I suppose that's why they call it a sandbox mmo

Yea, the only reason i felt i wanted to be lvl 50 was the ability to at least put up a fight when doing trade runs in the contested/open-pvp zones. However even lvl 50 is not going to help you much as it's usually a group that will attack you.

So for the most part, you can do anything you want in the "safe" zones at any level. There are definitely people that opt to avoid PvP and you'll see them constantly in the low level zones doing their stuff there.

The main thing that you need to take into account with this game:

1. You need LP to craft/harvest/farm/trade run . There's no way around this, you need it , period. The only thing you can do without LP is PvP + Questing (non crafting quests that is).
2. You need land to make real progress with the craft/trading . It is well known that land on most servers are severely limited, if you find an open spot that can fit a small house, you better grab it . The interesting part is all these limits are seriously driving the economy, you can see how there is a market in selling property . It's pretty much a fact that not everyone will be able to get property, and certainly not where they want with all their stuff close together.

So above points implies Patron Status. If you are F2P you will get a fairly good idea what's going on, but i can guarentee you right now, you will rarely have enough LP to go into crafting/trading, certainly not enough to level your character (i spend about 500 LP just to harvest my farm in 1 day, which can easily give me half a level in xp, then i have not even started trade runs, to craft+deliver 3 tradepacks i need 360LP right there) .

So as F2P, you will mostly be questing/leveling to 50 as F2P and this game will feel like a generic WoW clone if you do . If you are lucky, you can share a farm with a patron/guild (i share my farm with the guild for a few F2P to plant their stuff to complete quests).

I see the stone bricks on our server took a nice dive. 32g a stack :/ Not even worth it anymore. Apex is around 95g

Yeah I'm only playing F2P for now to get a feel for the game, want to get to around 15-20ish so I have unlocked most of the important things, then I will definitely get patron. Really enjoying it so far.
