6 December Xbox update

I've been on the preview program for a few weeks already. When it initially downloaded it didn't really take more than about 5 minutes. (that's on a 4MB DSL).

I suppose that doesn't really help say how big it is, 'cos it could have been a slow or a fast download... But - it does give some vague indication...

ah well ! maybe we should swop jobs, i'll make good use of all your money. i was also planning on getting a slim but eventually settled on a 120gig drive upgrade for my 360 pro

I haven't ever had a dashboard update that was over 200mb by the way, I wouldn't be too worried about the download size.
*edit* you can manually download the file by clicking here to download directly from the XBL website. Just remember to follow the instructions, it's very simple.

I just tried doing it but the stupid firewall at my work is not allowing the download.
Maybe try doing it tomorrow, just in case the previous update is still the one they're givingg there. Maybe MS is only putting the new one there when you start getting the prompt on your console later today.
Anyway, I will get it tonight. I'm not too bothered. As long as I can play my games I'm happy.
 
Even if you have a US or UK account its unlikely that you will be able to access the new content that they will be getting because of your local ip's.
I have a UK account and I still can't watch Skyplayer. :(

I am rather excited for this update though.

I see that there is no indication as to which update it is :(
But I've downloaded it any ways, I use 3G so any time I can save some of my data bundle, I try to do so :)
