I'm quite happy with how things are progressing. Positive contributors will always be welcomed however.

I'm so stoked I managed to finally break the 9 minute barrier with a clean lap!

Bonus points to Solitude for a classy drift through the carousel (karussell?)

And also I'm out for the rest of this round. I suck. I tried for almost an hour to just get a lean lap and have been unable to do so. Forza 5 gave me false confidence. I'm going to borrow [MENTION=9789]DieGrootHammer[/MENTION]'s unedited signature. I'll be sticking to the championship racing until the next round.

And here's why i won't be getting a clean lap on this one (also playing only in 30mins stints with 9min laps doesn't help):

Well you did get a clean lap at least , and i've been following your ghost and could see your first 5mins you were driving freely and at some point you realised "hey i might get a clean lap on this" and totally slowed down to a crawl losing 10 seconds in the process ;)

Haha that's what happens every time! The only way for me to get a clean lap is to slow down. Especially the further in I get. In fear of not getting a clean lap.

Pretty much the same here. The difference between us is that I've not even been able to finish a lap because I just get frustrated. Also I haven't really had a chance to spend much time with Forza this week. The university protests have given me quite a workload at work and extended my own exams so most of my time is currently devoted between work and studies.
Hopefully next week will look least bleek all round.
 
well I just look at times at the beginning of the challenge and now, despite being clean or dirty I see improvements across the board. That is something to take away from this....
 
Ok, I managed to get in under 9 minutes . Not a clean lap though, I think that would be optimistic taking the amount of time I've managed to play into consideration.
Got to say, you guys kick ass! Seeing a bunch of you placing quite nicely on the African leaderboard.
 
So lightning killed my Netgear router this weekend, ended up buying a new one (Linksys) and what do you know, my Forza League/Multiplayer is suddenly working without a hitch. So dunno if it was my router, or a setting on the router or Afrihost's new network , but i guess worth investigating if you are struggling getting into multiplayer.

I'm keen to do a few challenges but I am new to Xbox so don't have many friends or is this a closed community for racing against the regulars.

Anyone can do the challenges, your name will automatically appear on the african leaderboards, i think for the last challenge (still on going) alot of the Top 10 on the list is probably from around this thread .

If they have been driving a Mitsubishi Lancer on NordSchleife , very good chance they are part of the list ;)

Hmm interesting. I still can't get on to multiplayer and it's bothering me more than I care to admit. Can you please send me a link or details of the new router you bought?

Still not sure what exactly made it to work, but as i've mentioned, a few people on the official forums mentioned the IPSec thing, and by default it is enabled on above router...and a few also said a new[er] router solved their issues.

My netgear was a few years old already, and there's no IPSec type setting on it, so maybe it was just old tech or something.

Meh, and there i struggle to get in again, might be the few moments i had a perfect connection going..

So don't go and replace your router just yet, but main improvements i got with the new router was faster Wifi , faster LAN ports (my xbox is on a LAN cable to my router, definitely helps with streaming speeds) and i few extra settings to fiddle with.

I'm mostly getting an unable to find game session message. I can seem to create a private lobby though
