Blade & Soul

We're running two poh 6 groups atm just getting new 45's geared up. Also plan to organise regular Tear farming groups as well for moneh. We're not even a quarter of the way into content, so I'm not that phased as I know what content and classes are to come. Just focussing on financial preparations for said content!

Will you guys be playing Black Desert Online? Release is 3 March. Looks amazing. It's more a sandbox with theme park elements. In my opinion it looks like a much better game than blade and soul.

Well, since SA is locked out and European lag is bad enough without having to add VPN's to the mix, no. It does indeed 'look' amazing, however, I've been following it's development over the years, and have been watching renowned Korean game vloggers review it. The concensus was that it's end game was lacking (in fact, most of them returned to Blade & Soul). I personally don't judge games on graphics, ESPECIALLY if they're Korean. ArcheAge looked pretty, but ended up being pretty awful. I'm not saying that it will be completely awful, I'm just going with my own personal 'MMO sensor' on this one, which is usually fairly reliable. :)

If you're the type of person that enjoys party content, raiding, equalized 1v1 arena, and instanced dungeons then I suggest going with Blade & Soul. Players with a high tolerance for grinding and farming can go with Black Desert because the end game there leans towards more on the GvG side and perhaps PK PvP with new NA changes.

Also, as I've said a few posts back, B&S is geared towards those who perhaps have an affinity for fast-paced gameplay, martial arts, Anime, and the whimsical. Those who prefer traditional, realistic graphics and combat might feel more comfortable playing BD.

Cool, thanks for the info. By "looks amazing" I was referring to the game package as a whole, not the graphics. ;)

Regarding the use of VPNs, from what I understand you just use it once to log on and then it's no longer necessary. So it shouldn't influence lag.

In terms of endgame, it's a sandbox, so it's kinda focused on PvP as opposed to PvE right? Isn't that a big part of the draw of a sandbox MMO? I haven't played that many so would be interested to hear your opinion.

Edit: Only saw your edit after I posted.[emoji14]

So! Mushin's is pretty challenging! Definitely a gear+L2P check! We did BSH 24 as a guild last night and it was a lot of fun. They also seem to have fixed some of the existing issues that some players were experiencing too. I'm really looking forward to future content, as it looks like NCSoft is learning from their past mistakes, and making sure they tackle issues sooner, rather than later. It's a good sign of things to come. :)

Can you do PoH and BSH cross server?

I'll probably hit 45 today as I stopped at like 90~% yesterday, but on Cardinal Gates obv. :)

I'm actually not sure if you can do 24 man cross server ... I'll find out. For 4/6-man, I know that if you enter the Cross-Server Dungeon Lobby with a party, then someone can join your room number. Not sure if it works the same way for 24 man. :)

I'm currently doing e.fleet supply chain with randoms just for the dailies and gold(Also dungeon dailies), as I've currently found that getting gold is actually quite a "problem". Those moonwater transformation stones...

Even starting the crafting stuff now to see if I can make some gold that way.

Running endgame content (4 Blue Dailies+Tomb of Exiles; E. Fleet Supply Chain (24); Nightshade Harbour (24); the 4/6 man of those; and ESPECIALLY crafting is the only way to make money. That or buying it with NC coins I guess (but peoples' prices are ridiculous atm). I can imagine that it might be a little more challenging outside of guild groups, but it's still pretty effective solo. The only thing about making money in this game is that it takes time and tenacity. One could argue that the income rate is seriously nerfed, however, if you look at the timeline of content updates from China/Korea, you'll see why this is the case. They might level it out once the 50 patch is in place.
