Why all the love for steam? its a little browser that opens games.
Intrusive bloatware.... Steam alone might have been tolerable, but now origin also wants a piece of my resource pie, and its not gonna end there.
I hardly call 100mb RAM usage bloat.
Besides it that it gives me a single hub to see what my friends are playing, specials that no retail or online store can beat and as Graal pointed out a sense of security that my games are always available to download.
People seem to ignore the fact that Steam has almost single-handedly brought PC gaming back out from the bowls of supposed death. So many devs are seeing the light again thanks to Steam, just look at Alan Wakes success.
I'm not going to try to convince anyone that they should use Steam, or like it for that matter, but it's silly to dismiss it because of some irrational or personal opinion.
