Comic Books

ive recently read the WoW: Curse of the Worgen comics... pretty cool :p explains some of the back story behind them worgens

Yeah, get #0. That should be a pretty good point to showcase the series.
Ok I must admit , I am pleasantly surprised the AR thing works awesome I agree it will be part of the future of comics
But as for the series as good as it appears I will give it 2 more books to decide if I want to buy it . Right now my thoughts are no
but I can see how it could become a following.
On a side note received a copy of Smallville yesterday another I will prob not get again.
With the awesomeness of the new Action Comics and of Superman this just feels lazy

Yeah, give it a while. It MIGHT grow on you.
AR features are amazing, going to be using it a lot more in the coming months. Still need to read Action Comics, at the moment catching up on X-Force and the whole Messiah War arc.

Going in to the shop on Sunday, have about a month's worth of books waiting for me.

EVERYONE REMEMBER 5th MAY FREE COMIC BOOK DAY.

Huh? Your profile says you in South Africa. There's plenty of comic stores here.

Depends on what town you live in. ;-)

I used to get comics from time to time back when they cost 20c a copy. I would love to be able to reread some of them. Now if Marvel, DC, and Top Cow were to make some of their older collections available for download from their website for a small fee [say, a few dollars for each story arc], I would love to buy them, DRM or not.

Anyone reading some of the 'Night of the Owls' books? There are a few gems in there.
Also enjoying the AvX books, already being a subscriber to Wolverine and the X-Men helps that out a lot.

Oh good stuff. There seems to be another Heroclix event on Sunday at Cosmic Comics on Sunday.
Those little heroclix look so awesome wanna collect them even if i dont play the game. Watched a video on youtube to see how to play the game, gees info overload. I suppose once you play it it gets better.

I'm sorry if this has been addressed before in this thread, I can't read through 40 pages, have to pretend to work some times :p

But does anyone know where you can have comic books appraised? Think I might be sitting on some possibly valuable ones... not sure.

google gave me ziltch

Yes you can.
Go to your nearest comic shop. If you are in JoBurg, check out Cosmic Comics. Shane, the owner, can have a look at what you have.

There is a massively intricate process of determining the value of comic books, which involves the delta of a number of factors, like street value guides and online auction sites. You can even give Shane a call and have him explain the process to you over the phone. 011 476 9640

There is a process which also significantly boosts the value of any good condition books that you might have, called CGC. You take your comic books into your nearest comic shop, you give them about R350 and they send it to the publisher. The publisher gives it a condition grading and puts it in a perspex container (you get a reading copy back). This boosts the value significantly.

Has anybody started reading Saga by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples?
I believe 3 issues are out already. I've only read the first issue buts caught my attention, just wondering if anyone else has read it.

Haven't read it yet. I saw the preview of it in Thief of Thieves #1 a few months ago. I am trying very hard not to increase my monthly amount of titles at the moment.
