Comic Books

Thanks for the suggestion. They're actually my comic book / graphic novel source, but they only have collected Judge Dredd editions, not the individual 2000AD issues.

Oh ok. My suggestion is that you ask them to order some for you. They can just add a few to their weekly order, I know most comic book shops do that kind of thing.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but came across Batman: Earth One (http://www.batmanearthone.com/) and bought the Kindle version through the site, didn't wanna wait so long to read. I'm looking for hardcovers of Superman and Batman: Earth One in South Africa or would it be easier to order off Amazon? If you guys haven't read the graphic novel.. do it! Enjoyed it :)

I see that Readers Den has Batman: Earth One HC

Is anyone else subscribing to the Marvel Graphic Novel (fortnightly) series? They're serious bargain!

If you are in Gauteng, check out Cosmic Comics. Google them to get their details, as I don't have them handy. They should have it, as I have seen a copy or two available there.

I got a copy of Batman earth one from Smallville Comics about a month ago. They had superman earth one as well. They sold out right away and the owner Joe keeps ordering more. They in alberton mall.

Cosmic Comics having a buy-one-get-one-free sale on this weekend, because they don't want to carry stuff to the new store hehehe...Something about the items must be older than a month.

Picked up The Boys vol. 11 and Crossed vol.2 up for a combined price of R249 as part of the buy-one-get-one-free special at Cosmic Comics yesterday. SWEET!

Also, I picked up issue 1 (of 5) of Harvest (from Image). I could not put it down, can't wait for the rest.

I have a collection building to read lol , seems all that is getting read is Action comics and Batman .
I want to break out from the DC /Marvel mould a bit experience some of the other houses writing and depiction.
just don't know what to dive into , I hate that feeling when you reading something and then you realise oh crap it looks like something important happened in issue 3 and you have no idea .

What do you guys suggest ? any books come to Mind or complete arcs .

What about looking at the following:

Sin City (Dark Horse)
Walking Dead (Image)

What is your tolerance level to violence and other such themes, perhaps I can recommend you something from other houses, but they normally are quite 'heavy'.

Yeah that's a great start.
