Comic Books

Nice. I have a couple of spawn statues and Jack and Sally from Nightmare before Christmas sitting in my study. They are awesome, and have quite a bit of collectors value - you can't get them anymore.

They do take up space, but not too much.

That's awesome. If you have lots, they do take a LOT of space. I have a mate who has so many that the majority of his collection is packed up into boxes, chilling in the garage because he simply has no room to display any more statues.

I read both mediums, depending on where I can get it or what the occasion is. I have about 20 of those 700 left to read.

I barely just started. Went through The Avengers first. Don't get that much time though.

And with 25 to 40mb per download, I have to take it easy.

I'm so far behind with my reading that I don't get new editions anymore, I wait for the trades or books. Let me know if it's any good :D

I stopped with All-New after BotA. I'm going to buy the trades from now on, because the tie-ins of everything are really killing my bank account.

I used my night surfer data one month-end and just smashed about 9GB of books in a day. I don't recommend it, it seriously messes up your Comixology collection.

The only comics I got are Asterix and never seen any popular comic books in my town sadly would love to get hold of some to read when bored or on holiday.

Iv got a hell of a lot of Digital Comics, The Walking Dead really got me back into the Comics... Now i stack out ComiXology every time a new one is released...

Just finished the Age of Ultron "series" pretty dark, but really enjoyed it!

Also started reading Thor, but from the first editions, and the story has changed so much since its inception... It was HEAVILY anti communist, quite hilarious actually...

You should check out the current run of Thor. I've read the odd issue or two and it seems to be really good. I've also read a lot of the old Thor books...they can turn into heavy reading really quickly.

Doesn't Comixology allow you to sort your books? Or how do you mean it messes it up?

I still think the online purchases are the best, especially if you have a tablet... They quite a lot cheaper, and you dont stress about them getting damaged...

Yeah, but there are some things that you can only experience with a physical copy. Like King City.

It does sort it, but imaging having 700 titles added to your library above and beyond what you already have. It makes your brain hurt when you look at it. I thought it was a good idea, but I soon realised that it was too much.

LOL. Thanks for the heads up. I will keep it in mind.

I presume you need a credit card to purchase these or are there other ways?
Does one need a credit card or is bank transfers alright?

You dont need a credit card, you can do it with a normal Debit Card... As long as you have the 3 numbers on the back of your card... the CCV number i think its called...

As for the whole digital/real-thing discussion goes, I am firmly remain a real-thing fan. Admittedly, there are some things that I am willing to read digitally (tablet only, I hate reading them on PC screens), but generally I buy hard-copies. There's nothing quite like the smell, and the effort of trying not to crack the spine too much :P

Yeah that's a good book. At some point, Battle of the Atom will start happening, which will require you to get the other parts from Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, Wolverine and the X-Men to make any sense of what is going on.

I know that at the moment, All-New X-Men is going to do an event that crosses over with Guardians of the Galaxy. Anyone going to get that?
if the writing is close to this I sure will

Got the ccv on my debit card which is a mastercard chipped so hope it works.

I get so confused with the X-Men comics and where to start... There seem to be so many different X-Men Series, could someone recommend a good starting point?

@Ichigo, It will definitely work... I use mine all the time....

As Sheldon would say start from the beggining since you may miss something important.
