Cricket Thread - not the bugs but the buggers playing it :)

I had all but given up at innings change. I mean, a par score is about 140+ in "Hit 'n Giggle". Defend-able is 160+. Should win is 180+.

So at 115/6 I honestly prepared myself for another loss. A win is a win and nobody will be checking the books in a years time to see exactly how it was won or if it was pretty.

1 - 0 up is celebration stuff at the mo.

And there is hope and confidence within the team again, surely. They need it. :)

This Ashes test (3rd match in this series) is proving to be a lot tougher for the Poms. Hoping the Aussies can take this one to put back some spice into the series.

I see KP just got his hundred. It's looking like the poms will avoid the follow-on in which case I can see only two possible outcomes: a draw or an Australian collapse with England winning it. Hoping for the sake of the series that the Aussies pulls a rabbit from the hat.

yeah if we win the next one Pakistan move up to number 1 spot, so would be good for SA to start putting pressure on the rankings and get some positives from the tour.

Wow. So this will be a huge game for the islanders and will come out fighting hard. We will do well to take the game then.

Just out of interest what does everyone here think about captains using stalling tactics in test games?

Faf finally gets some runs, he was bowled out for a well played 85 off 65 deliveriies, well done to him.
End of SA innings and we are on 163/3 after 20 overs. Hoping for a clean sweep. after this its 7 games till Bangladesh world cup.

On the other side of things SA A vs Aus A is very close but I think Aus might just edge the SA A.
/edit: SA A lost by three wickets.

Decent total and bowling as they have to a team missing Sanga in their life up, they'll find it difficulties to chase this down.

Just got to ask where this sort of positive batting was in the ODI's.

We lost! Cannot believe it. By 6 wickets with 11 balls to spare.

I also thought we posted a fairly decent total but then Sri Lanka had almost 70 on the board after 7 overs. Seems our fairly decent score was no where decent.

Wow that was unexpected. Was in the car when I heard the news. Well at least we won the series. So it's now off to India isn't it?

Me thinks the Aussies are up before then. But not sure. Or is it Aussies after India. Worst! My memory sucks :o

Batting was superb and bowling was rubbish. Converse of the previous two games. Just can't bring them together in same match. Pity.

According to my sources it is Pakistan in Abu Dhabi in October. Then India and then Aus.

Right you are ;)

Just checked Supersport and our next game is 14 Oct against the Pakis. Last game 15 Nov. And then India on 21 Nov. That's going to be a hectic schedule for the team.

England are 194/7 (79.0 overs)

Lyon's 4/36 is done most of the damage.

Edit: make that 8 down now :)

So Aus A are through to the final to play the winner between SA A and India A.

Looks like its game on, probably to end in a draw with the Ashes, England being 234 / 5 in their 2nd innings with a lead of 202. I wonder if Clarke's form is taking a dip since he hasn't managed to contribute much in this test (so far) or the last test.

I'm much impressed by Ian Bell's form in the Ashes thus far:
1st Test: 25 & 109
2nd Test: 109 & 74
3rd Test: 60 & 4*
4th Test: 6 & 105*

Gives him an aggregate of 492 @ an average of 82.
