Dota 2

Is anyone able to give me a buddy key or invite to the Beta?

I have tried everything and haven't received a key yet. Playdota, random draws, give-aways and I even email Gabe Newell and begged him for a key... no response... YET!

hehe I would like a key just to see whats up , but I dont think its gonna take my attention away from BF3 :)
 
Just got my key! Woot! Just troll those forums and get more than 20 posts and you'll get a key... well that's what I did anyway.
 
I made my first post in the playdota forum for the draw and the next day I got a key this was the day before Christmas so what a nice present I got!
I created an account in the first week of playdota opening so that must have helped me get a key.
Gave it to my friend as I cannot play it at the moment because I'm on 3g :cry:
I think the open beta is really close so then more people will have access to the game.
 
Meh, played dota 2 for a week, really it is the same game with better gfx. Nothing special, honestly. I guess it can be fun for a bit but it is exactly like dota1, so um. You not missing out on anything tbh.

And the reason I want to play it is because it is DotA. Not playing HoN, don't like it. Not playing LoL, don't care about it.

Want DotA 2, because it is developed by Valve in conjunction with IceFrog.

Today’s update also includes several features we are really excited about. First, we’ve incorporated the latest Dota 6.73 changes, including 5 new items: Rod of Atos, Heaven’s Halberd, Ring of Aquila, Abyssal Blade and Tranquil Boots. We’ve also began deploying our new Spectator proxy system that will allow games to have an unlimited number of spectators. Not all games will support this at the start, while we gather data on the system’s performance, but we expect to finish full deployment soon. Another spectating feature we’ve added is Autospeed to replays: Autospeed will fast-forward games until high intensity moments are detected at which point it will return to regular speeds. So you can now watch Dendi harvest Battle Furies with your hands free!

Yeah if it wasn't for Icefrog that was involved with the development I wouldn't even have cared about this and the whole point of Dota2 is to keep DotA but to give Icefrog more room to improve the game mechanics and that is exactly what is happening.

Improved mechanics, what improved mechanics. My biggest gripe with DOTA2 atm, there seems to be little to no improvements.
Also Icefrog isn't very active in the forums.
