Fallout: New Vegas official discussion thread

I started playing it last night and really enjoyed what I've experienced so far. I only played for about an hour before fatigue brought my session to a premature end. One thing I noted was the remarkably good voice acting and it seems they used more than 3 voice actors this time. :) I'm looking forward to getting a decent session in today. :D

With so many of the RPG fans on here enjoying this I am wondering if its not worth getting afterall.. the bugs though... i dunno if i feel like a bugy game at the present moment.

I have been lucky so far it seems then.
I am in 13 hours into the game only found 2 so far. The one where for some reason you can't shoot under a railing and there was a scorpion stuck in a rock.

Dam and I must say the difficult level is really interesting since you basically can make it as easy or hard as you want to. I will see how hard it gets once you hit the strip and is aligned to a faction.

Anybody got it console, specifically Xbox? I have Fallout 3 on pc, got it specifically for the modding tools and it has given me such head aches. Corrupted save files, missing save files. Odd clitches. I am not really keen on going through that again even though I love the Fallout 3 mods.

I have it on PS3. 12 hours in and no bugs or freezes yet. Both consoles did get a patch yesterday though. Get it. NOW!!!

I've had one crash and one really funny bug so far, but man am I enjoying every second of this game. :D

Well its not HUGE but just enough so you will forget about it. Like you get your main quest then your side quest then your side side quest(these don't go into our quest log)

Its like everygame out there really. Go kill these fetch me this repair this buy this pickup that deliver something. Blow this up save those and so forth.

no fetch key card, turn the switch close the vent ? :D

Is it fun? I mean I enjoyed fallout 3 for a few hours but got tedious fast.

yeah its fun since you have a lot more quest being put there for you.

Also they made it so you explore a much larger section. Where in fallout 3 you basically explored the bottom left side of the map. And if you did not go out and explore the rest of the map you where never sent there.

Anyone else playing on hardcore mode? It's pretty awesome, only annoyance I've had with it so far is the dehydration. Crippled limbs during battle are also problematic as it means you gotta go to a doctor, but I usually just load up my last save (I save A LOT) and try again 'till I manage to kill all the enemies without getting any crippled limbs :p I did get a concussion once so far though, was pretty tough to aim after that.

Nope I don't have that problem.

That's when you have the spotter perk, or if that Boone sniper dude is with you. Enemies around you turn red when you zoom in on them. Quite useful for when you're walking in a large open area.

ANyhow, this game is so much fun! Been playing all of last night as well as the whole day so far :D. It's way more engaging that FA3 and the voice actiang is brilliant. I'm digging the story as well. I'm glad I bought it. I havent had one bug so far. Just one crash but that wasn't bad.

Apparently they're using the exact same graphics engine.... and it's not being made by the same people who made Fallout 3. I loved Fallout 3 to bits, but I'm a bit sceptical.
