Guild Wars 2

I was just a little surprised because I joined a group and some guy demanded I pay him 3g. I didn't understand that the 3g in the lfg tool actually meant payment for the run. It just seems very risky. Some guy might tell you 3g a run and then disappear just before the last boss or something.

Although I guess I can see the lure of it when you get what happened to me yesterday. I was in a PUG for Sorrow's Embrace, during which I spent about 10 minutes waiting for one of their AFK players, just to get kicked off partway through to make space for another one of their guild members.

3 GOLD? Are they sick? you don't even make 3 gold per one run, 1g may be a little more sensible. Then again I recall people asking 20 platinum to 60 second 55 solo Varesh HM in Guild Wars.

Yeah, I also thought it sounded like a massive rip-off. I don't know if you even make 1 gold on an average dungeon run. Maybe if you get very lucky with your drops.

Anyway, I'm really chuffed with my progress. Got from level 42 to 68 on my Elementalist since last week when I started. I've been doing a lot of EotM which levels you crazy fast. I think I'll keep it up until 70 and then start moving into the high level questing zones.

Typically a dungeon gets sold for the amount of gold that you make on a normal run, most guys who sell are good, but you have the odd scammer, and some guys don't keep a record of who paid them, should a dungeon fail, which happens on occasion to no fault of the guy selling.

There are more scammers in the pug groups

GW generally has a nicer community than in any other MMO I've ever played - unfortunately you're going to find scum everywhere - and GW2 is no exception. That being said, the game just generally promotes being nice to others pretty well.

I still play Aion from time to time, and I'm constantly annoyed by seeing someone running up to a node I was intending to farm and taking it. Or kill-stealing a mob I was attacking.

Been awhile since I played AION, mostly because the guys I enjoy playing with, have had to move their play time slot so that we seldom can play together, and I do not like the crowd that plays when I can play ...

Level 75. :o

I don't believe I've ever leveled this fast. It's crazy.

The only thing that bothers me is that bugs that i reported in 2013 are still there. Particularly, I just spent half an hour doing a personal story quest just to get right to the end and find Trahearne has disappeared, rendering the quest impossible to finish. :/ This bug is even on their wiki page and is still not fixed.

How do you do that? I want to level a guardian and a mesmer to 80 for dungeons and fractals myself, but I can't see myself devoting the time again so soon after the elementalist. I've got two instant level 20 scrolls, but that still leaves 60 levels. :(

If you've been playing for a while you would've probably, through the course of your daily play, earned experience tomes - which levels a character up each time one is used. They tend to stack up pretty quickly - I got bored with leveling my mesmer and booster her to 80 using only those.

Of course, now she's running around with level 40 armour - but I don't play her seriously anyways. I'm not a huge fan of the tomes to be honest.

Only problem with experience scrolls are that you get your character to lvl 80 and you have never played it. Which is ok if it is a second Mesmer or whatever, but if it is your first of that profession ...

I just don't enjoy playing mesmer very much - so I'm not taking the char at all seriously. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that I had 9 character slots, I would've deleted my mesmer when the expansion lands. As it is now, I log in on her occasionally to go run around with the zerg in EotM. Beyond that - maybe one day I'll try and learn the class properly. If I feel like it.

Mesmer is easy character to play, not so easy to play well, especially if your traits and armour are not optimised

I don't need anything other than my Guardian. Guardian for life! :D

Yai! My Elementalist is now 80.

I spent almost 30g on this outfit, but I thought if I might as well look good on my way to Legendary gear. Reason it's so expensive is because I bought this set for the looks and then bought Berserkers for the stats and transmuted the berserker gear. I only bought 3 parts of the berserker gear so far because it's hellishly expensive.

Dunno what I'm going to go for after this. I kinda like minimalist outfits like the one I've got on now. I don't like outfits that are too busy. Maybe I'll just stick with this look and get a better staff somewhere along the line.

Grats dude! I'm working on smaller stretch goals on my way towards legendary. My first goal was to finish my look which I completed this week, other goals include - achievement point rewards (want the glow-y pauldrons from 6000 AP :D), gold generation (AC runs being the quickest to this goal), Mordrem back piece etc.

All the while while doing this I'm slowly accumulating the resources I need for the legendary.
